Thread regarding CDW layoffs

A Solid ITS-DV Meeting Today

New outside C level who seems sharp, a new AI strategy that finally makes sense, new initiatives to actually standardize how opportunities work and take a logical approach to account mapping and strategy. Good vibe from leadership. All good progress.

We've seen it before - enjoy the coffee and donuts while listening to the warm-feel-good vibes of the vision/strategy. It happened a few years ago in ITS with Andy Eccles - then with other ITS-DV leadership (whom a number of them are gone now).

At least it'll hold water for a bit until the next round of layoffs.

This specific thread is ridiculous. It's analogous to the middle school field day where every kid gets a trophy. BFD if DV and Orchestration pulled off one decent meeting. That's how low the bar appears to have gone that we are cutting that as progress. Ridiculous.

Don’t even get me started on who they’re hiring now. Just don’t. Warm bodies on discount visas and offshore contracts. Quality walked out the door a long time ago and what’s left is bargain-bin talent propped up to make management look good. And somehow this clown show is supposed to be hosting the Olympics? Helpppppppp… maybe if I add enough L’s it’ll finally reach the corner office. What innovation? Bring what? LoL.

@en Agreed! Sounded like the same ol’ word salad our leaders love to use and think is innovative and “new”, but will amount to the same ol’ pattern of garbage hires. 👏🏻

What was so different from all of the other meetings?

The 4 horsemen of CDW pain and misery: Credit, Legal, CWS, PPM.

@d1 sounds like someone who has his button up CDW polo on a little too tight around the collar. Keep drinking the kool-aid of broken promises and retreaded campaigns we have all heard of before. Go sell those full stack, collaboration, powerplay and "streamlined" solutions....duh, we've been through this before, there was nothing groundbreaking about the meeting, they hooked ya for sure ...... Do tell, what department are you in, how long have you been here?

It was indeed a good meeting and there are often great ideas but the “no, we can’t do that; too innovative, too risky, it’s just not how we do things” departments (Credit, Legal, PPM, CWS) will ki-l them all off as per the usual CDW way. And the new guy will be collateral damage, just like all who have gone before.

@cm You are the problem. So jaded you can’t see anything positive. You are a sick and sad guy. You should quit, but you can’t because there is nowhere else you can work. I’ll bet your personal life suks too. Prly an incel in top if it all. Best of luck.

BK was tossing the word salad and shaking like a leaf interviewing MK having the sudden realization he might be harder to gaslight. Oh buddy. Best of luck.
