Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Anyone else feeling burnt out?

I was not LR’ed but after this last one I’m officially checked out. I will do what I’m asked to do and nothing more. Thank you Cisco and my wonderful team but this battery is officially permanently drained.

Same. Even the perennial optimists on my team are unhappy after this last round and announced upcoming bizarre reorgs. I will be spending any extra time upskilling for outside roles.

@ct they realized that he has a degree in environmental sciences and assigned him the job of making AI environmentally friendly. He works so many hours now he's burnt out...

Quiet quitting is the way forward, just as the two hours guy who regularly posts here says. I agree with whoever that person is, it’s pointless busting your a-s at Cisco.

SBG is a sh show everyone has lost faith on the leadership team. I don’t know anyone in America who feels safe. August will be a bloodbath and if you are over good luck.

LRs and pointless reorgs by folks who always know better do take a heavy toll on motivation. So many employees would love to be offered an early retirement plan.

Cisco trains you to get here. Their constant lay off strategy has workforce consequences

Yes! Just rest and vest your stock. You have AGENCY! Take action that supports you and your burn out healing, not Cisco. Why because Cisco will keep taking from your energy.

Meanwhile, chunk away as much $$$ as you can. Pay off the car and credit cards. Why? Because your number will come up and you can give the finger and move on knowing you are in good shape.

dude, your IIT VP, IIT sDIR and IIT DIR above you, says you s u c k at your job and you take too long to finish it and do not know how to do it correctly, and they can do it with less effort and faster (not getting burnt out).

Even if you go above and beyond and produce truly amazing things, it doesn't save you from getting LR'd.

Society teaches us that hard work produces good results, but it doesn't at Cisco.

Cisco sees you as a burden and nothing more.

My experience has been when you hit hard burn out you need to move on. There won't be anything at your current job that will revitalize you. It is a tough job market and there are no guarantees that your next job will be any more secure but it is worth the risk. You aren't safe where you are sitting now so go ahead. I have burned out a couple of times in my career and a new job, new people, new surroundings, new routine, new BS... it will bring you right back to were you were before.

Right there with you. Everyone on my team is totally deflated. I’m honestly not sure how we pull out of this, but I feel like it’s the beginning of the end for my org in SBG.
