Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

MM leaving Is this real… or are we being pranked again?

Serious question: is this an actual leadership change… or just another episode of “nothing to see here, carry on”?

Because if you’ve been here longer than five minutes, you’ve seen this headline before. Big announcement. Big promises. Same results. Now we’re being told the MM exit is happening in July.
July??

So we’re just supposed to sit tight for a few more months and pretend everything is fine while the same dysfunction keeps running? That the damage they did to people didn’t happen? At this point, it’s not even skepticism, it’s pattern recognition.

Let’s recap what employees have actually experienced:
• Constant churn
• Strong people walking out the door
• “Transformation” that somehow makes things worse, not better
• Leadership narratives that don’t match reality on the ground

And now we’re supposed to believe this time it’s different?

I think the real internal reaction is:
“I’ll believe it when I see the calendar hit July… and even then, I’ll give it a week.”

Also—genuine question—how much did this last year of “strategy” actually cost the company in lost talent, momentum, and dollars?

Because that’s the part no one ever addresses. If this is real, great. Long overdue. But respectfully… employees aren’t celebrating yet.

We’ve learned, we have the scars, the damage has been done and we will pray for the future org they fake their way into.

You don’t have to stand by and let the lies and misinformation go unaddressed in these posts. Most ppl here have never reached out or engaged with the ppl they trash on this site. Just hating from a distance. Sad.

@a3 bring back JA who abandoned you f’ers and rarely showed up? I guess it’s easier to find someone to hate and blame for the 8 yrs of D&D. If MM does come back, most of you will still be here trying to figure out why you are so competent and yet, no one cares about you or what you have to say. Do something more productive with your time and stop being a troll.

@1d5 if bb is incompetent, then mm is sharp as a bowl of cereal

Funny how IT “does nothing,” yet the old systems somehow kept working through all this. That was not leadership — that was employees carrying multiple jobs while political players collected promotions, bonuses, and RSUs. BB is silver, he knows what IT is and actually worked in it so maybe not a leader but at least competent unlike MM Time to start investing in the people and systems doing the real work.

@hk, looking at the comment likes, BB got a worse review than MM.

I get a kick out of these Towers V D&D exchanges. It's true that D&D is a do nothing group. It's also true that the Towers org is full of lazy, incompetent people looking for silver bullets to cover for their horrible decision making. Crown Castle isn't worth a damn. If you choose to stay at this dumpster fire, neither or you.

@b5 BB is a dinosaur and simply just not a competent person (let alone leader). He and MR together are literally the blind leading the blind. His staff laughs at him, other teams can’t stand him, and his idea of effective leadership is building silos. You can’t be a command and control leader and a doofus. It doesn’t work.

@d0 you're welcome to be unconcerned by shifting leadership in a largely-irrelevant organization. If you're still an employee at CCI though you have a stake in the decision-making of the CFO, who is directly to blame for the MM debacle.

@ay oh another post on D&D, who do nothing expect spend money. Become a revenue center and then start complaining

@ay Hopefully, the new leadership will also clean up BB's mess. Now, listen to his meetings; no one speaks. Think about the team morale. Hopefully, the leader will bring in an energetic, competent leader.

@at you're forgiven for not knowing who runs D&D. It's not like senior leadership there has succeeded in partnering with the business. Strangely, those that did succeed were pushed out while the cronies with no accomplishments were elevated.

@aa your “Don't be fooled, she'll return as the CEO.” Comment scares me. It sounds insane… At this point nothing would surprise me. Let’s hope not and hope this sticks.

Zero accomplishments. Zero vision. Zero ability to lead the hundreds of people beneath her. And yet, somehow, here we are.

She built her inner circle the way all mediocre executives do: promote the loyal, not the capable. Her lieutenants are unqualified at best, actively unethical at worst. The organization didn't just stagnate under her. It rotted.

But MM's tenure at CCI isn't really a story about damage. The damage is obvious, measurable, and widely felt. The real mystery is the ascent. How does someone with no discernible record of achievement climb this high? How does a person that nobody outside her handpicked circle can speak a single genuine positive word about (not one!) keep finding a C-suite patron willing to sponsor her next promotion?

That's the question that should keep CCI's board up at night. Not just what she did. But who kept making it possible, and why?

after things that should have ended this saga long ago didn't, whatever finally did it has to be epic

YEARS overdue!!! Amazing how ‘accountability’ somehow never reached the people steering the ship into the rocks, while strong employees got thrown overboard to protect the narrative. At this point, bring back competent leadership (JA) and a therapist for whoever survived the circus, THEY ARE NOT OK!
