Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

company/union negotiations again this month

So according to an email sent last month the company and union are talking again this month. Will there be a complete blackout form both sides as usual? Would be nice to know if any progress is made, or if not, what are sticking points.

@cz Then you should have found a job that had one, I wish I got bonuses, but I’m not on here crying about it.

The ONLY thing getting discussed currently is how AI will be handled going forward. VZ wants overlap responsibilities for VZ and VZW.

@bh Verizon's staffing, management versus craft/union. Craft/union, "all" over-rated and over-paid, "all" are a waste of money and time engulfing capital which can be spent better elsewhere.

I wish I had a continuing corporate pension!!!

@a1 whatever gets you through the night, but blaming the union for your RIF is quite a reach

@OP It’s on a need to know basis and you don’t need to know! Don’t worry, the union will sc--w over its members as usual.

@OP: RJ here, Temple Terrace, Tampa, FL, albeit no longer a management employee after being RIFed last year, Friday, December 19th, 2025, and one reason due to the union(s) getting their way.

No cogent progress is going to be reported unless you have connections.
