If you see it you own it is a nice concept but management believes in cover up the mess and ignore it ever happened.
The very fact that anyone believes this BS is just more proof that you are a sheep. You are a fool if you want to feel safe and make top dollar. Ninety percent plus only puts in 10% effort 2% of the time; the rest is just meetings, but hey, that's the Chevron Way!
“Work will set you free”
Beware all slogans.
“There’s always time to do it right.” Was always a crock of sh-t.
Ran its course but they didn’t plan ahead on what to do next and how to transition. Limbo time!
“Recalculating” 😂😂😂
Wait, people actually think the Chevron Way was ever a real thing? Do you still believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy?
Unionize, unionize, unionize.
The Chevron Way used to be used during the review process along with the verbiage for what was required to attain each rating. The Way was used a reason for you not getting that next job, you not getting a higher rating, you not get a promotion. Supervisors would point at the document along with the laundry list of things you needed to attain to be a 1 or 2+ then conclude for you that you were a 2. Do better next year. For those who have been around know that the requirements for a 1 rating (in the good old days) was impossible to attain. Now that the review system has changed it's no longer needed. You've got no clue where you stand and that's they way they want it.
Chevron way still exists, especially at the lower than PSG26 level. I like and respect everyone I work for or with directly, it's the machiavellianism at the highest level, PSG 28+ that makes me doubt it all. The rapid rotation of bullsh-t artists through international roles and CTC roles has really led to a huge number of fundamentally useless very senior managers, at least 50% are worthless.
@1svs+1w9EN9Oy I’m not denying the Narcissistic culture that Chevron has become but if you couldn’t figure out the Chevron Way when it was alive and well you shouldn’t be working for any corporation.
I’ve not been at Chevron for over 8 years. “The Chevron Way” died a slow death when the often hidden narcassistic culture that tends to breed middle managers found they could use it as a we-pon. When these narcassitic and sometimes psychopathic leaders found employees that could harm their chance of promotion…. They would create a narrative of that employee not living “Chevron Way” values. Invariably, it worked. I saw this happen to several friends
Chevron way was most effective when it was twisted for narcassistic purposes.
“ People having equitable access to opportunity does not mean less opportunity to you UNLESS YOU ARE LESS QUALIFIED.”
Total nonsense. It has been proven in multiple courts of law that DEI programs discriminate against whites and asians. Thats why they have been banned by the SCOTUS. There is no systematic racism in modern America other than legacy DEI programs.
Nobody could work out what The Chevron Way meant. Every GM had a different definition accompanied by a long boring story from the Cretaceous.
Corporate profits and every decision is for the benefits of the shareholders. Chevron will fall behind because people aren't happy anymore and will lose really good employees. Anxiety has increased for employees in the San Ramon office by forcing them to move to Houston starting in 2026. From what I hear, they want people to quit on their own and even offering severances to get out of their positions.
Note Agile enough. Please address this with all 7 levels of your direct supervisors.
Not reporting significant oil spills to the government. Falsifying onsite environmental testing. Maximizing profits over safety. The Chevron Way has evolved.
MW laid it off
@cyw, That's not new and didn't start with MW, ain't no "since MW" about it. Sorry to break it to you junior , not a MW fan but you're so far off point and naïve it's laughable.
Integrity lost, now we lie, cheat, and steal to increase profits.
Chevron lost its way. They used to develop their people and created a culture where people wanted to work. Since MW was put in charge it’s been laying off the talented people every 5 years or so. They have lost their talent and culture. Those who remain are only there for practical reasons. The newer hires will not stay for long run. Sad.
