Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The entire ELT doesn’t have a vision to rescue Intel

Not LBT, not anybody else. We're so sc--wed it's not even funny.

@dk That was the dream - Even I think Pat's expectation. But IFS doesnt seem capable of landing "the whale"

@cy No one believes that. Time will tell.

@ca — of course it does — make other peoples’ leading edge AI accelerator designs in IFS. Execution on the other hand…..

Where is Panther Lake btw from the visionary Intel? Constant excuses for many years with nothing to show. Intel is even thinking about giving up 14A dreams unless there is customers for it - and it will not have customers for it because trust is gone for good!

Intel’s got the value on dGPU. Wait until the next gen. Customer’s have been begging for it.

It's not that ELT lacks vision, it just doesn't include OP.

You know, like everyone else's vision.

@ca What about the Nvidia ki-ler: Core Ultra, brought to you by TSMC with Intel IP running on it?

Core Ultra will cause market share to flip the same way dGPUs did.

That’s the Intel answer. Maroons.

Without disclosing anything - does Intel have any AI strategy at all besides AI client? From the outside (I was at Intel 25 years) it still looks like just cost cutting and implementing Pat's strategy. You don't even see break the company up much anymore.

I don't believe OP can see.

They do have a vision. The vision is to cut costs by laying off engineers and ask the remaining employees to “laser focus on execution” .
That and try to get TACO to subsidize them so they can pay ELT bonus.

But what if the vision is not to rescue Intel but to sell it off in pieces?

Yea I think that is the big take away here. They didn’t know what to do. And really they don’t know what they are doing. They need to be replaced. It’s shocking that many are even in the position they are in and they failed us and Intel and the stock owners.

Fire the INTC board and hire an innovative CPU GPU NPU design and production team. Stargate data center or 14a bust.

It’s been a chronic problem for decades.
Remember when Mark Bohr said the foundry model was “collapsing”?

What a clown.

The clown show has been running Intel for a very long time. Their cluelessness hidden behind a monopoly granted by the benevolence of Microsoft.
