@g5 Part of a daily write up from one of MY most valued market commentary:
ORACLE / NQ: ORCL reported meh results, except one magic number: their "Remaining Performance Obligations (RPOs)" jumped by +359% to $455bn!!!
FYI, RPOs are not guaranteed revenue and "represent the total value of contracted revenue that has not yet been recognized, often tied to future performance obligations".
I listened to the call out of intellectual curiosity and Larry Elison sounded as promotional as Elon Musk, whereas the sell-side analysts sounded like a troop of monkeys fighting over a banana. A question about "ROI" was subtly avoided, because who cares about ROI, when the numbers are so big right?!
ORCL is a meme stock now !
@cs that was the growing RPO used up…not made up
We have entered the make sh-t up phase:
"how to send your stock soaring 25% "we expect Oracle Cloud Infrastructure revenue to grow 77% to $18 billion in 2025 and then increase to $32BN, $73BN, $114BN, and $144BN over the subsequent four years."
So projecting 8x increase in 5 years. And algos fall for this? "
Thoughts? Feels like this time the reaming was from a big size-12. Only without the astroglide.
it's a gigantic sc--w job
Ask the ex-Sun Microsystems folks how their “stocks only go up” fantasy worked out during the last big tech revolution - .com bo-m. Spoiler: Oracle scooped them up for a bargain-bin $9.50 a share after a 94% nosedive from the peak and then slowly laid off most of what they bought. Every shiny new tech cycle looks unstoppable… right up until it faceplants. Millennials, take notice.
SC pulls yet another Rabbit out of the hat !!! Layoffs + earnings/revenue misses ='s 23% pop !!
CRAZY !!!
August 12 got laid off. With 1 year vest pending. March layoff happened before earnings as well. Now that I am gone.. will long the stock whenever layoffs happen.
Saw this: "Shares of Oracle ORCL +1.32% ▲ rose over 18% in after-hours trading. The upside came despite the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure company reporting lower-than-expected results for its first quarter of Fiscal Year 2026."
So now O is an "artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure company"
Gosh, I hope O's share price doesn't get slammed when the AI bubble pops. /sarc
The stock is up 21% in after hours trading. The silver lining is that RSU's will be worth 20% more than this morning
Hard to say. The guidance three months ago was that O would hit it out of the park. We should know very soon.
What do I think?
F.ck 'em!
I think we’ll make our stock price soar.
