Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

0% Raises and Exxodus

So many resignations. Looks like the 0% raises are having the desired effect. I for one am applying and trying to leave. What are you doing?

Place has been in decline since 2015 and total sh!tshow since 2020. Can't believe they haven't straightened the place out. The real cost of doing business is staggering under those terms.

Even XOM lifers are actively looking now. Time of reckoning is coming and I just hope DWW is around to see the destruction of the company under his leadership so accountability is clearly put on him.

@ba And good for them for resigning. I am applying for jobs and even a salary decrease is fine with me at this point. I am confident in a few years I will be ahead vs staying here with 0% raises and no future.

@cr every single person I know is miserable. Every. Single. One. All trying to leave. This place is rotten to the core and only getting worse by the minute.

I saw 7 posts on LinkedIn this morning of people leaving EM. Most were Cube pictures. None were retirement.

EM is perfecting the art of forcing people to leave without the cost of PIP/PIL. Their strategy seems to be to make every non sponsored employee miserable, and it is working. 100% of employees are miserable and a high % are miserable enough to leave.

I know my functional management are concerns as the GBCs are not ready to take over responsibility yet so need us for a few more years until Polaris and other projects happen. However they are totally clueless on why people are leaving. One of our managers told us it’s because the market is heating up. Heads in the sand as it’s got nothing to do with the market but the low or no salary increases, morale at rock bottom There’s no future, even renaming it Finance 2.0 as it’s being called ‘there’s no future in Finance’ by the masses with most of our potentials being dropped to 29. WTF Exxon.

Shrinking bands, combined with positions reclassed to lower CLs = fewer promotions and smaller raises. My US staff member was promoted… 6.5kincrease! Was expecting ~15k because that is what colleague got 5 yrs ago… they resigned 😑

@a7 I was looking forward to a nice raise after spending several years ranked poorly my supervisor changed and suddenly I was ranked Outstanding. I did nothing different in fact I didn’t think it was my best year. Then time for raises cam and my reward? 0% raise. WTF?

@a7 they lowered some salary bands, so even peeps ranked as outstanding received 0% in some cases. My 1% was very motivating. It motivated me to update my resume!
