Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Cool! Congrats on your dream job/promotion. The rest of the folks who have been laid off can find solace in your achievements.

I'm thrilled to finally share the exciting news that I've been promoted to my dream role as the VP of Merchandising for Asia Pacific and Latin America at Nike!

It's been a busy few months setting up this amazing team for success, but I'm proud to be back home in APLA, leading with passion, commitment, and determination.

After 22 incredible years at Nike, this role is a dream come true. I'm so grateful to the amazing leaders who've supported me throughout my career and believed in me.

No better place than the layoff.com to boast about your promotion.

This leader is the real deal. She’s maintained her humanity and truly cares about her team. Take your sensitivity elsewhere. Sincerely, one of the 302 that loved her post and were ecstatic to see it.

I’ve worked alongside this leader and she’s one of the rare ones who walk the talk in standing up for people. When I was laid off last spring, she was one of the few who reached out and kept in touch. It’s reasonable to update LinkedIn to announce a new role.

Nike is famous for game of thrones kinda mentality since the founder’s time. Look back. That’s how we play with competitors and after so many years, we learned to play similarly with our peers.

Excited for them! Everyone else is just mad they aren’t relevant anymore and the company realized that before you. Good luck with unemployment for the next few years. Stay mad

If your D or SD starts to wear wide leg pants from Pieces LA and an XL Gallery Dept shirt in Q3 better believe that promotion is coming in Q4! If they’re already paring them with Bottega Veneta opticals the promo has already been achieved.

Wait one month, that’s it. Bragg in LinkedIn for your college friends to envy you just in a few weeks, not now, your team knows anyway so it’s not for them that you’re updating your profile, you do it for you.
It’s not hard to at least appear to be a nice person.

Given the circumstances, these updates are tone-deaf and signal a lack of leadership. Who would actually want to work under this person?
