Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

What a dump.

Left the dump recently. Took me a few months to get an offer. After a month, I cannot think of a single thing that is worse about new company. Very eye-opening.
This makes me wonder: has anyone else left U.S. Bank and realized just how bad of an employer it was?
The bank also appears to have slashed the salary range on the backfill listing.

Has anyone considered a class-action lawsuit or sought counsel?

Almost have to think the failure to disclose bed bugs within the office and the reasonable "transmission" to people's home, along with the negative health effects, creates a legal liability.

@1sk the only reason we find out anything is from the rumor mill. People will pass along what conference rooms not to be in because they have bedbugs. The fact that we even have to worry about this sh-t because of RTO is insane. I never had to worry about bed bugs when I was remote.

Almost two decades at bank. AC very missed. Inspirational. Had surprise inheritance. Am going to just not RTO, je-k boss will get lower bonus due to my non- compliance. Karma.

Yep I will get fired, pip would be better and will ask clarification questions all day. don’t need job for money anymore. Seeing powerless boss tantrum priceless.

I feel bad for those not in my situation.

Cool thing is that long term employees know where bodies are buried. No signed severance means no NDA!

Could not agree more. I left, leaving my LTI and restricted stocks on the table, and couldn’t be happier. In a short period of time I make significantly more, actually feel appreciated and valued, and am enjoying life again. So glad I made the change and I seriously encourage others to do the same. You have one life to live and the Senior leaders at USB only value you as long as their own head is above water.

Leave. The financial industry job market is not nearly as tough as people make it out to be- there are opportunities at great banks everywhere. I started looking in early July and had an offer by end of the month with a fantastic company- so glad I left and hope the talented employees at US Bank find new opportunities soon. Hang in there, use your network and polish up your resume.

@da I work with technology and godda-n the leadership decisions are garbage. Our systems are archaic, and they won't spend the money to get up to date. They keep making bad acquisitions in the feeble hopes of making money and it's failing.

I’m so thankful they laid me off and basically paid me $$ not to work there anymore. I was miserable but relieved when it finally happened. Found remote work a few months later and although I took a pay cut, I’ve never been happier than I am with my new job. There is a silver lining and hope. Just hang in there.

When the job market turns I sincerely hope there is a mass exodus of all the best talent and leadership gets the middle finger they deserve. I hope all of their Ivy League business schools one day use US Bank as a case study to demonstrate the risk of a toxic workplace culture and alienating your employees.

I'm on my way out but my manager doesn't know yet. I'm the Technology group and I know a lot of other people are also just waiting for the right opportunity to leave. It's clear that that leadership team does not care about employees and the long-term health of the company. They are just focused on cost-cutting versus building a culture to support sustainable growth. Honestly, I don't see how U.S. Bank will recover from the decisions by this incompetent leadership (especially the decisions that impact the Technology group). I guess we will find out in a year or two, but I won't be here.

@cn I’ve been “re-orged” 3 times in less than 3 years. My current joke of a “role” could not be any more insulting to my abilities and what I was hired to do, and clearly driven by politics and not logic. Fvck this pathetic excuse of a business. On my way out too.

Left this year for less money but my new employer lets me work entirely remote. Dont regret it one bit.

I worked there for 8 years. I was “re-orged” 5 times. My last manager at one point said my job was going to be centralized and “they would have to find something for me to do”. This area just had some lay-offs, I would have likely been cut.

I had good managers and bad managers. My last manager must have been autistic as she was incapable of making any connection with her employees.

Overall, glad I left

Some of us haven't left and still realize what an insanely terrible place this is to work at. Leadership doesn't care about their employees or the toxic culture they've created and it's only getting worse
