Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Who works with IT and Digital people that don’t know IT or Digital?

I am so sick and tired of the stupidity and cluelessness.

ABU faked the buisness need/timing so that they can keep their jobs of doing nothing.. Oh we must do it sooner because you know there's turnarounds and things. Can't wait to see how bad they sodo--ze this implementation. You can count it will be a doozy!

Sure I’ll explain DC to you. They create project plans but then when the timeline slips they say with another $5 million in funding it will only slip by 2 years instead of 5, rinse and repeat every year. It’s the best job security in IT and they never have to actually deliver anything until 2050 I mean 2055 I mean 2060 I mean…

Non-IT platform staff were meant to serve as subject matter experts in the tech/functional process, acting as a link between the function and IT. However, most individuals in these positions weren’t top candidates in the function before taking on these roles. Many landed there during the prior layoffs as a fallback option and have since struggled to move elsewhere. In hindsight, it might have been better to fill these tech-digital roles with IT personnel and then consult functional domain tech experts in the BUs. While some excel in these positions, many feel stuck, wondering, "Why am I still here, unable to leave?" They’re relieved to have a job but didn’t envision their education or career path leading to this role, which likely impacts their performance compared to expectations.

My product owner has a diploma level education in an unrelated field, has never built a software product themselves, and completely misunderstands agile and its intent. Yet is in charge of a massive portfolio and a 20 person team of highly qualified and very technical individuals with far more insight into what the customer wants and needs than the PO will ever have. This person is PSG 24.

Not sure, but I work with some exploration experts that couldn't find hydrocarbons at a petrol station.

Would be nice if there wasn't a bunch of d-mb users out there. The level of ignorance is astounding!
