Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Hopeful for layoffs

Things have worsened so much that I have no intention of staying here past the end of the year. I admit, while I'm job hunting, I'm hoping for another round of layoffs. It would feel amazing to leave this place while hitting them where it hurts (taking severance) instead of just quitting.

If you treat your people like trash, they are going to tend to act that way. At the very least, you are not going to get the best work out of folks. The person who called the other posters trash is obviously finding some favor for now. Give it time, either age or performance will catch up with you too.

I remember many year ago when I left the company. I was moved into a role that I knew spelled the end of my employment. I decided to just wait them out ... come in every day and do what I needed to do to not wind up on a PIP. 18 months later I was finally redeployed. I told myself they needed to pay for me to leave and they did.

Good advice. Do some coasting through the holidays, try to use the company as much as you can. 2025 is a new year. Take your bonus and find a better employer.

With the holidays approaching, this may not be the best time to look for a job. Most companies don’t hire during this time of the year. I suggest you spend this time doing interview prep, coast along in your job and see if you win the performance management severance package lottery. Nothing much happen at C1 anyway during the holidays, so just hang in there.

If you don’t get a PIP, stay till end of February to get your well deserved bonus.

If you get
