The writing is on the wall! This company is broke and morally bankrupt. The leadership is beyond horrible across the board. They drive any new ideas or new business straight into the abyss. The risk and compliance folks (2LOD) rip apart any chance to market or obtain sales or new customers and generate real profit. They can't afford trash cans at desks, wipes, security, cleaning crews, pest control, air conditioning and modern plumbing in some of these hubs. BROKE!!!

in Philly they were giving out grade level bumps in April
Don't expect merits or bonuses like in the past. If you thought prior years were bad, it can get worse.
@d2 To be fair TOS has missed it numbers for over 3-4 years to the tune of $400M . So it seems that it doesn’t matter how much experience you have at USB, it only means you are part of the buddy takes care of buddy system. As for the smart , get real work done and make the targets group.. well you missed that boat.
Ok
Bottom line: USB has become a fu---d up shithole of an employer. Fu-k you Gunjan.
@cp wait, you guys are getting promotions?
More quiet layoffs occurred in various departments across TOS over the last couple months. Gunjan is hellbent on saving money by axing employees. Employees with 20+ years and tons of experience with systems have been let go.
@cp OP Recruiter here- We’re being told to emphasize bonus opportunities (likely unachievable in today’s climate) and future pay increases if the employee performs well (not a binding contract, it’s a false promise).
Unless you are facing unemployment, say no to “dry promotions”.

@cm+1jz729ykp The fact that this company has the gall to even extend a promotion with no pay increase says it all. Who tf offers a promotion with no pay increase?! So they want what amounts to slave labor - increased responsibilities, heavier workload, meaningless job title change, but no pay adjustment. This feels like an employee rights violation.
But more importantly, who in their right mind would accept a promotion with no pay increase. Has anyone actually accepted an "offer" like this?! I do not care where you are on the pay band, if you "promote" someone but not increase their pay, it's not a promotion. This company su-ks a-s.
We are most definitely counting every penny when it comes to making job offers to candidates. For internals, many employees will not receive a pay increase when being promoted depending where they are on the pay scale. Don’t take the “promotion” people. They are taking advantage of you.
My manager tells us “We’re a pay for performance company, we always have been.”. No you id--t, we’re cutting costs because we cannot generate revenue. Lipstick 💄 on a pig 🐷 is still a pig.

2LID does a fine job missing risks and later hitting the BL with issues due to their poor guidance in the first place. Coming from other banks I have no idea how this bank survived as long as it has under its current structure, policies, processes and strategies. EVERYTHING is backwards. Vet issues before data and research is complete, prepare for remediation before research is complete, review PRISMs in silos, no one owns what they should and owns what they shouldn't, people moved into compliance and risk roles with no background, fraud teams and processes are a joke, what AML program is left? What am I missing?
Not broke. Just choose not to spend money on employees. Morally bankrupt is accurate. I laughed out loud at getting assigned my Ethics training once again. The risk folks shred new ideas because they are brought to the 2LOD with such poorly developed plans that you could drive a truck through the holes. If 2LOD didn’t call out the issues before bringing brought to market it would result in losses or issues, either of which would cause problems.
