EXACTLY SO!
There are stores who complete many GS requests. These sales have been cultivated from years of customer service to the campus and repeat business for events. The majority of work is the follow up. Making sure quotes and POs are completed and items arrive by needed date is increasingly difficult. Try directing the reward to the people who actually "make it happen".
But once again... rewards are being directed to the true "Fat" in the company. Nothing is going to get trimmed that way.
Since most stores don't do any guaranteed sales, or very few, most RM's won't meet the goal to get a bonus.
Maybe if the process wasn't so difficult and time consuming stores may have made the effort but no customer is going to wait for as long as FOD requires just to get a quote. Your customer can go online to many sites and have instant information, a1-800 number to call for immediate answers to questions, and better pricing.
I wish FOD would get their act together. I had had a number of products arrive so poorly made that I don't want to even deal with them.
I was told that store would have to handle any book issues because 1 person can't handle all 8 stores at rush. Last I heard there wouldn't be an AP person for Fall term unless that's changed.
Just leave then!
No incentive, no effort. Let the RM do it, along with selling Access,make sure 100% course materials questions go to your CM person, AP to the AP person. Those that took payouts as managers, remember you are no longer a manager, don't act like one.
hopefully no self-respecting store lackey will help with the sale since they get literally nothing for it.
