USAA is by far the biggest mistake of my life and professional career. It is toxic and self-serving. I don't know of any other organization that not only allows retaliation and discrimination, but defends it. That company makes me sick.

@1h6 yeah, except at least some states deny you unemployment if you were fired. Also, not everyone who was fired was on the same team.
@1h3
But it would still qualify for unemployment as its not "cause" in the stricter sense. It'd be different if there was an actual policy violation. So still better than quitting.
@1e5 No severance with getting fired so that's not really a deal.
If I could be guaranteed that I would be terminated just for posting on slack about Teams I just might be tempted to take that deal...
Correlation doesn’t mean causation. Many people made comments. Like 5 people from one very specific team got fired. The things are unrelated
Are you saying people have been fired because of the suggestions they added on the Voice channel?! And they are wondering why pulse participation is so low.
wasn't that shared anyway at townhall!?
They want people chained to their desks, 8 hours straight, 5days a week, because, well, the good ol days and collaboration…
Teams has insane spyware tracking. Time spent on keyboard, mouse, etc with very easily accessible dashboards that frontline managers can view.
That's the endgame, they want to start firing remote workers with cause.
@dm No severance with getting fired.
I think that MS Teams is just the tip of the iceberg. New guy is all in for Microsoft and we all know that we're never a Microsoft shop.
I still dont get it why changing of a technology is such a pain point for folks that they started sharing info internally ?
also on the other hand if the info was shared whats the big deal if people are worried about a tool?
Do they get severance when they get fired?
@a9 I reached out to someone and they found out yesterday that yesterday was their last day. That ain't a layoff, that's a firing.
Can confirm, I knew them worked with them in the past. They were very valuable, one was even a marine with a family. The exact kind of people were are suppose to be serving.
@ck
Sure, but I don't know about that firsthand. If I see it in my circle that will be a big red flag for me too. But when the Teams install gets pushed to me that will be very much in my face.
@bq Firing people for sharing an internally available link is a deal breaker for me.
havent you heard? Dan the Man is a Microsoft Fan!
So wait... is USAA moving to Teams?
If so I'm going to have to dust off my resume. Teams is an absolute deal-breaker.
A few people pointed out in different channels sharing a jira ticket on the move from slack to teams, and overall discussion on the impacts of this change. A few of these people are no longer working here as of today. Could be for other reasons but it seems suspicious
I am in IT. I am not able to understand this message. Can you please explain what has happened ?
This place has become straight up dystopian.
What has happened to our beloved association?
In all fairness, the people who learned of the teams move were in IT, and IT was slated for layoffs this round so might not be causation and just coincidence,.. but just another reason to never say your actual opinions.
Yup. Two from my team.
