Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

The burnout is complete

The non-stop layoff drama has led to my complete emotional detachment. I don't want to lose my job, but I also can't bring myself to feel the stress I used to. It's not normal, but it's a strange kind of relief.

Age old story at Verizon. Mine - 15 years ago. Just quit and feel relief. Start a business, become a consultant, look for work, take time off - it is not worth it to stay in the sh..t show. It never ever ever changes or gets better at Vz - just new wrappers, shuffling, rebranding/new colors, new rah rah, more surveys.... And with AI it will be much worse. You'll feel better if you take charge of your own life.

Please get back to work. This complaining adds no shareholder value. None of our customers want to talk to a negative Nancy.

@OP just go to work and do your job. Stress? My god. Are you on the front lines fighting fires or taking bullets? No, you work for VZ which has so much dead weight and people running their own other businesses from here. Taking exercise classes during the day in some of these buildings. Again , just do your job and take the money they give you for doing very little

With Verizon moving to the message of caring about civil rights, mental health, diversity etc over the years that our post it note HR leader could give a flying. &% our own mental health. Many people feel the way you do and stress about the situation daily, impacting life outside of Verizon. Sad.

I am starting a daycare center. I am feeling pretty good about it. No experience (or children) necessary.
