@cj Do you need what they pay you to "get by"?????? If not, and you are being paid even a little bit more than what you need to just "get by" they should reduce your pay to exactly what you need to just "get by".
And there's a word for that philosophy, which certain failed countries of the past once embraced.

Whether he did earn it or not, he received that jack! You can be disgusted for the rest of your life. Become a CEO somehow and get that jack for yourself. Enough already.

Does he really need that much money to get by?

If he's earned 0.1% of it he's earned more than the likes of people in this whiny baby site have ever actually earned in their entire careers.

In the 1960s and 70s CEO compenstaioni was around 20 times average worker salary.
Around the end of the 70s greed took over and the differential skyrocketed to the absurd delta seen today.
They and those that emulate getting to that position are just pure greedy with no care to the folks who actually make the company work.

He is hoping for an even bigger raise for this year when he executes all his cost cutting and consummates the HESS deal.

I only got 2% after (imo) stellar performance (peer feedback was very good and appreciated, but hit only 2 EE ). And previous year was 4%. So effectively not keeping up with average.
But like to think my value is more than a few EEs and increases, reminder to balance work and family.
With all that talk about do better and falling behind the competitors, we are being “forced” to sacrifice more, our time our families. Nevertheless hard to understand a 23% jump with the narrative they are spewing . Lies lies lies. The sad truth is that all this short term focus on cost reduction - destroying moral and livelihoods - as well as share buybacks to temporary prop up share price while destroying long term company growth potential, are only for MW to grow his family legacy wealth. It is unlikely he will ever enjoyed it himself as he is a busy man and decided to work into overtime. In my opinion this is an example of an empty life.

Of course he sleeps well at night; zero conscience. Money and power corrupt, and if he ever had morals, they’re sure as he!! MIA now.

He could so easily ensure employees got at least a proper cost of living increase, maybe even turn down ever increasing compensation for himself and his 🤡s, but that will NEVER happen.

There is something truly and utterly f-c*ed up about executive compensation. These crazy wages are not sustainable. Alienating an entire company has consequences; maybe not today or next week, but it’s going to unravel at some point.

$32 million and no accountability or taking responsibility for multiple poor business decisions that have run the company down, yet happily getting rid of 20% of employees. I hope the sack of s**t sleeps well at night.

So we get 3-5 percent, told there will be mass layoffs due to poor performance and high costs, and he gets a 23% raise?

If we sent the job to India, how much would we save. The results wouldn't be any worse.

His compensation comes out to a little under $90k a day, or $122k a day if you exclude weekends, or $15k an hour based on an eight hour day.

Since the post is vague. MW salary went up in 2024 to 32 million.
