Updates coming to ways of working. They'll have us all in the office more in hopes the gas prices, commute, and micromanaging makes people quit. Theyve basically said as much to members of leadership.

@17f indoctrinated POS.
@16w send me gas money then fatty
This week or next week learn about RTO. Gas those cars up and find some pants that fit fatties.
Executives see high value in being seen as people in power, which is cool in office. WFH isnt so cool for executives. Its nothing more than that. WFH saves policyholders money, getting rid of expensive office space in bo-m-towns would save LOTS of money. The workforce has repeatedly told them they dont want to commute in to sit in a cubicle and answer phones for 7.75hrs straight.
This is about nothing more than making executives feel special to be in an office in their expensive suit being bowed to by little people. Thats it. No one else gives a shiit about being in person since most of us work alone on the phone all day.
Doing this they lose another % or two of GOOD workers who will just go for another companies remote work.
All they are really doing is sacrificing our future workers by cutting the company at the knees, removing entry level workers who would stick around forever if promoted up.
Im not sure if anyones worked a professional role and seen off the street hires , its brutal coming in at that level, vs working your way up through ILR then express ect.
Its one of those make line go up sacrifices that someone will regret in 10 years.
State farm really has a horrific executive/board running the show. theyve sacrificed the companies dominance in the market to save on costs, now it will sacrifice quality and the future to make line go up....which im fine with, never been a customer myself, and with other companies selling 5mil policies to our 500k theyll have jobs open at other companies once they destroy state farm. He-l even allstate has embraced remote work fully and is hiring. It would be super easy to take a decade of experience over there and just chill and work remote.
@w4 LOL! Let me explainnnnnan this too you! So you are clear on life and can make better decisions.
State Farm Executive's perspective. You (employee) = pile of sh-t! They see no difference except the pile of sh-t might at least fertilize their yard at their vacation homes. Wake up!
They want you to leave!
@gr then sublease more of the buildings and just let more people be remote, keep a minimal footprint for people that need to ir choose to come into the office. Letting people work from home costs them nothing and means everything to their employees.
@sd ET is definitely going to be coming into the office more often, especially if you're in Bloomington.
They'll be building floor space back out in some buildings at South within the next 3 months.
@sx. Spot on, that is why they want a lemming 2040 workforce that is disposable. They act like they are on some kind of altruistic mission to help society, LGBTQ+, minorities and women. Oldest trick in the book! Burn and churn is the plan. 42% of all employees at SF have been here 2 years or less and 80% including all leadership has been here 5 years or less. The elites have been selling "snake oil" since the beginning of time and there have always been countless supply of sheep lining up to drink the Kool Aid.
Yeah looks like theyll irritate the employees until they leave, as a management plan to reduce workforce, by replacing it with offshoring and AI. If cost was the concern theyd drop their leases on their overpriced hub buildings, so its not about that. Seems state farms human capital is seen as an un-needed cost by the board.
People need to start pressuring government to make offshoring less profitable for companies. Once their entry level BPOs get some experience, you better believe theyll start looking to have them work specialist/professional roles.
I really think the board wants state farm to be nothing more than self sufficient agents, executives, and a 3rd world workforce with AI helping. Why do we want to be the cheap insurance company? This was never our thing. Like losing the #1 insurance company after a century isnt bad enough for them?
No one interacts in office anyway outside of managers and analysts.
We were told yesterday that they are considering bringing our area in two weeks a month. Auto Claims in Cityline! Plus they keep cramming in sections to fill every spot. We asked where are they going to get the room and we were told with all the downsizing in U/W we are going to have a lot of extra floor space plus right now most floors are empty on week 1 & 4 since everyone either comes in week 2 or 3. They are chomping at the bit plus they want to make people quit.
@e9 ET too?
So far my dept is still holding steady to 5 days a month.
If they have the assets and do not use them, it's hard to justify the cost to the customer. Bring them all in and control costs.
@br have not heard it for et. Even if they do, I won't go because I know the caliber of my colleagues and how much of a waste of time it is.
Yes it is moving to 2 weeks per month starting in June. They are going to notify everyone in a couple of weeks right after we get our EIP/MIP and they start the round of April layoffs/severance for folks in Underwriting. They are trying to continue the purge. They are only about 80% of the way to their 100% 2040 work force! The more lemmings the better! Su-kers!
@br our area is doing 1 week a month currently and heard it might move up to 2 weeks a month
@cf whole point of selling the building and leasing floor space was rapid scale up/down.
They'll find the space.
Curious to how that is possible if there is not enough space for every dept to come in at once, esp the atl hub ?
My boss said expect two days a week or one week a month.
She also said minimal tracking though so for at least the next few years it is more of a suggestion.
In et we have once a quarter with many considered hybrid even though they live 4 hours away.
