@tc, sure. The masses were so offended by this thread they rapidly up or downvoted comments of a particular sentiment and continued to post comments mocking the notion it is manipulated. Very realistic.

yea, when I post a lot of bs and fabricated highly opinionated fiction that people downvote, I also like to blame the conspiracy, you know, whoever. HR, the mods, some upset troll, it's never that my comments are completely off base.

@n2, it really doesn’t matter whether it’s HR, Legal, or some other uninvolved party. The votes are definitely manipulated and the mods are “encouraged” to watch for anything that could be construed as the slightest infraction against the site rules. It happens every time there are threads about certain thin-skinned individuals, and within a day or two the thread is deleted.

IT has been mostly MSP's since 2020. You must not be aware the majority of Operations support for IT are MSP's today and the remaining positions are being offshored to Manila and the Engine in India. In the transition period, MSP's are staffing the positions in IT Operations.
I am glad to hear you are happy with the outsourcing because it will continue to get worse over the next 18 months. I agree the IT support at Chevron is horrible and I work in IT. I am surprised at the number of tickets that get closed successful when they are not completed accurately. However, outsourcing to MSP's did not fix the problem.

Glad you agree with the decision to reduce the customer service!!!

You are right about the comments along a cultural rest, but the past the ELT did not explain was they are resetting the culture to Indian. The goal is lower cost with Indian workers located in India, therefore a cultural reset. The ELT did not mention fixing the problems of poor managers and workplace bullying.

@fy Customer-facing IT at Chevron is beyond useless. Ticket gets routed from one (American-based) IT team to the next, with no one taking initiative to develop a solution. Our engineering group gave up on asking IT to build a solution for our problem and asked a local engineer with python experience to build a tool instead. Solution was ghetto af but it functions enough of the time - something IT can’t even accomplish.

Other individual IT interactions are no better. Excel stops working? Re-image your computer. Computer won’t turn on? Re-image. Breathe on your keyboard? Re-image, baby.

If we get no help as customers with the current IT model, let’s slash the division and save some money on G&A. Not like we’re losing any functionality since there wasn’t any in the first place. Out of all the sc--w-ups in the re-org, ELT actually made the right call here.

@fx Your strawman argument that this has nothing to do with layoffs is an inherently flawed premise. The entire reorg was construed as a "cultural reset" from the onset of murmurs about it last December. That was the number one most echoed talking point across cascading levels of leadership's emails about said reorg as well. So if the company continues to state that this alleged full cultural reset is the desired outcome, yet still promotes or even just maintains in the organization these toxic leaders, such as SB, with unnecessary and foolish behaviors, then the reorg itself is a failure based on its core premises. And thus the layoffs ongoing won't cure what ails the ongoing decline of the company. So yeah, it's relevant.

You are telling IT to fix your computers and the ELT is outsourcing the IT support to India. You are not going to be happy with a person in India getting your incident ticket, downgrading the ticket to a 21 day repair SLO, then closing the ticket successfully after they couldn’t figure out the problem. Then you have to open another ticket to get someone else to resolve the problem.
You think IT su-ked before the ENGINE, just wait until it’s in full swing next year there will be a lot of unhappy customers all the while the IT support will be achieving all their metrics as green. Haha

Yea it's nothing to do with a 6 year old lawsuit that has nothing to do with layoffs why my comments are disliked by everyone. Waste of time here

This manager hired a so called "communications consultant" that is really her own personal exec coach (who was fired as a VP in a bay area company) using Chevron's dime for years to advance her own career

I don’t know this Chevron manager, but if you read this thing, it certainly sounds like the plaintiff is also one of those poor performers who are litigious, taking advantage of the system. We’ve seen these before.

@ca There’s no time limit on accusations like this. If she’s guilty, she should be stopped so others don’t have to deal with it. Thank you to the person doing something about it.
Others have been in situations like this but it’s hard to stand up to it because of the fear of retaliation. Wish we could all be that brave.

My experience with her was negative over 5 years ago (will leave it at that), but sad to hear others experienced worse. But either way, if this was 5 years ago, why is it being brought up now. Going to give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she has improved and is the reason why she is still here and being promoted?

I am glad someone brought this issue up because now I know to stay away from her. She is a racist and a bully and everyone should know so they can protect themselves.

It is sad to hear SB is a racist and bully, but it does not surprise me that she excels at Chevron. I worked with a high level Caucasian manager in the Gulf of Mexico many years ago and he told me, "If 100 crimes are committed in the state of Louisiana, then I guarantee you they were all committed by n1gg@s..." I almost sp-t my lunch on to the table. I was appalled to think someone who reported to the top manager in the GOMBU would speak like that inside Chevron. But I have learned over the years, many of the people in management at Chevron got their jobs and promotions through who they knew not by ethical and intelligent behavior. Oh well, not much we can do but take care of our families.... :(
