Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Reliable sources only | Cisco Layoff in May

How sure are you guys about the layoffs happening in May? Hearing a lot of mixed things and trying to figure out what’s actually credible vs just rumors. If you’re a troll pls gtfo, some are on anxiety prescriptions due to this.

It was never published that we FIRED C-levels.

I never worked with C levels at Cisco but by the time people hit Director their termination is always announced as "they are leaving to spend time with their family." The level of failure required to be laid off at that level is extremely evident to all. Smaller companies have no trouble outright firing poor performing C levels.

I too am hearing from a manager this is happening. It's May 14th the date. I'm sure they are submitting lists.

any post you see giving specific percentages or numbers is false.
I’m hearing rumours from well-connected people that give numbers per BU.
The LR from a few years were in the papers before announced
Which is why they now require NDAs

@dc hey numbntus, pretty sure that person was asking for your source for:
"Cisco heads rolled and a bunch of C-levels were fired"
ONE C-level was forced out by the board and Cisco paid mad $$$ to remover her.
yes whoever was the mole is apparently gone or silenced by NDAs

It was never published that we FIRED C-levels.

@ce do you have a reading comprehension problem? The LR from a few years were in the papers before announced. That's your damn source.

I checked my crystal ball. It looks ominous.

@cm To this point. If you Dir or Mgr are told they have head(s) to cut, they ALSO are forced to sign a NDA. Cuz god forbid anyone affected gets to know before CR and FK are ready for you to know. lol.

You do realize that VP’s and above have to sign NDA’s? How many of you think that your VP or SVP cares about you enough to risk their own livelihood to give you a heads up and an LR? All of these posts that give specific numbers or percentages are flat out wrong. That’s not the way an LR is conducted, there is no blanket % reduction that each BU is tasked with. Each BU has different budgets and funding, so while one may see a 5% reduction, others may see no impact at all.

Now, not saying there is not an LR coming. Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. I myself was asked to provide names weeks ago. So there is likely something coming, but any post you see giving specific percentages or numbers is false.

Reliable sources only

A few days ago I read here that J2 confirmed layoff. He is as reliable as it can be!

A few years ago the big layoffs were leaked, big time. Cisco heads rolled and a bunch of C-levels were fired. It is clear that the mole was located and removed.

Source, link?

@c4 The only way CR wil announce LRs is if it's benefit will stablize or raise stock prices. There is zero legal requirement for Cisco to "announce" lr's. That's all a publicity stunt. And before anyone goes screaming WARN act.. that's not federal and keeping you on payroll for 60 days post notice is how they get around cutting you the same day they file the WARN act paperwork.

@c2 Aside from the one stupidly overpaid C-level that CR made a huge deal about when he was forced by the board to let her go.. who else was fired?

Too many skeptics on here due to past false claims. But I’m 100% confident LR’s are coming. Had to submit my list. Lots of conversations lately about impacts with leadership team. The question is if it’s a big enough LR for Chuck to tell shareholders at earnings call, or if it’s just under the bar of having to report. Yes, it’s happening, I just don’t know for sure how small or large it is.

Here's the thing guys. A few years ago the big layoffs were leaked, big time. Cisco heads rolled and a bunch of C-levels were fired. It is clear that the mole was located and removed.

Since that time, every single LR prediction here is nothing more than a wild guess and so take it for what it is...at least until another mole emerges.

why these posts?

Cisco has done layoffs in the past. Cisco will do layoffs in the future. What is there to ponder? You may be part of a future layoff. You might not be. What do you need clarified?
