Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

So glad I am gone…

Exited last August via layoff with VSP. I often return to this board to see what’s happening. Hearing rumors of Oct 23 reminds me why I am so glad to be gone. 20 years in and glad for my gracious exit over a year ago. Bounced right into a new career I love and banked the entire enhanced severance. For those wishing you could go, maybe the 23rd will be the exit you don’t realize you need. Good luck everyone.

OP is 100% correct.

There was definitely a massive VSP offered summer of 2024.

And most definitely VZ is buying time to troll this website. They just didn't have AI back in the Joe Schmuck forum days.

Some of the people posting nasty grams here are the same overseas troll farm call centers spamming me daily with "loan forgiveness" calls.

It must su-k to work at VZ for 20 years like we did, and not get a quarter million USD parachute. Too bad for you. Happy Diwali, corporate slaves. Those of us who paid our dues know who you are, and what you represent: patriarchy, fiefdom, and class castes. GFY

Whats wrong with humans? I appreciate your post and yes there was a VSP offered then. Sheesh. After another 50 plus hour week without a second to eat, p-e, or sneeze ... because the decks don't build themselves.... and now too exhausted to think and have to do the ACTUAL work there was no time for.... I am jealous of the freedom people feel leaving. People say "just leave" but it isn't that simple for everyone. Sorry OP that people are harsh. Posts like yours keep me hopeful I will be able to get out soon.

"...Exited last August via layoff with VSP..."
Neither August 2025, nor August 2024 offered that (at least to us).
What segment were you in?

@ce because @ce, when they see a troll they feel the moral thing to do is to point out the false absurdity in order to guide the less intelligence-gifted.
America could learn a lot from my small example of pointing out absurdity, and push back.

@et It’s all truth. Was Rif’ed in July ‘24…group wasn’t initially eligible for VSP but got it anyway as part of the RIF. With banked vacation, 67 whole weeks, full bonus and all stocks. :)

@et "...glad for my gracious exit over a year ago..."
This poser's all over the place. OBVIOUS TROLL!

OP, nice try troll. "...Exited last August..." on a RIF? - chuckle
If you're gonna troll, at least get your false "facts" straight. (though you did nonetheless get a lot of ignorant upvotes from the duped).

To the OP. Your post is of no value to us whatsover. Get a life and stay off this board. Good riddance.

@ce I believe it's the type of post OP did here, the old "I left Verizon but 1 year later at my new job, I can't stop coming back here to post" type post that never gets received well. Just my 2 cents.

@bm I left as well and come here often hoping things change for those still there. I spent a very long time at Verizon so I’m interested in its future. Unfortunately, things seem to be the same or worse with people desperate for information because they fear their number is up. I used to think about it every day and when I left I realized how unhealthy it was to work for a company that has employees on egg shells. I now have a great job where the environment is not secretive and I’m not subjected to executives pushing propaganda to make things sound great while they plan their next round of cuts with zero regard for loyalty and decades of hard work. Earnings next week will be interesting to listen to. I suspect the CEO change was because they couldn’t report another subscriber loss without demonstrating major change such as replacing the CEO.

There's a lot of miserable people commenting, that speaks volumes about how unhappy you all must be. You can leave at any time since you are unhappy with your jobs. Don't wait for an offer.

Why are some of the comments so damn hateful? This is a board. Can’t people be civil anymore?

I don't recall a VSP being offered in August 2024. It must have been very limited and quiet.

Maybe they come back to see the miserable people like you who committed to help them feel good about leaving. What a troll

Why still come here if you're so happy somewhere else? Get lost, for good. Thanks in advance.
