@c4 you are right. Half of the toxicity on this site is driven by people responding negatively to someone stating a fact they don’t like.

@cd I’m a manager and while not giving exact numbers I can still set expectations so my team isn’t shocked when they see the numbers. HR only asked us to not deliver the numbers but nothing about managing expectations. After all it is us managers who will need to continue working with the team.

I heard that Gunjan doesn’t think people who are highly compensated for their grade level should get a merit this year. Bunch of bullsh-t since she’s making how many millions? And isn’t she highly compensated? We work hard and we get sh-t. You can’t make this up.

The amounts aren’t even approved yet so how are people even communicating already? I call bs. It won’t be approved for at least few weeks.

Yes, its ridiculous. Even a extraordinary performance rating is been given 0% . This is the new lows!

Hearing quite a few line managers getting overwritten on their allocations by their senior and executive management. Word is the higher the level the less generous the numbers for this round.

@OP yes, merit increase has been severely limited this year. Most 15 and over will see $0. Bonus is ok and at regular levels but LTI is also taking a massive hit this year.

@bp Not the one you are referring to but c'mon now! If a manager is adhering to the rules it does NOT automatically make him/her a bootlicker. It shows integrity. We do not need to stoop to the low levels of our CEO and executive management.

For those of us on the bottom rungs just scraping by already, how do you calculate this? Just want to prepare my backside now for how badly I’m about to get effed.

@bg

As a manager, the fact that you are referencing the rules shows what side you are on, and it isn’t with the employee. Run along now, you’ve got boots to lick.

@bg or they are a manager or above who knows what they were to give in terms of merit…

"Everyone on our team over it got nothing."

I keep seeing people posting things like this. I am very curious what group you are in. As a manager, I am not allowed to give out this information for a couple of weeks yet. Are managers breaking the rules, or is this just a bunch of lying trolls?

Yep! Everyone on our team over it got nothing. Bonus was still good

That was the official guidance provided. However, managers have some degree of discretion on that front and can choose to provide a merit increase anyways, especially if the person is top rated. Depending on BL, they may get pushback on that, so ymmv.

This policy has no impact on AIP or LTI.
