@cbex+1jiiz4tV you couldn’t b more right about this company not caring about their customers. And they treat employees worse. I can’t believe there are business people that actually still buy anything from these two faced band of crooks. Everyone is doing sdwan now and lots better than this circus.
I'm going to look at this layoff as a "I'm getting pushed off a sinking ship" and hope it is a blessing in disguise. Our leadership is a joke from the VP level and up, especially TT. They don't care about us employees and they really don't care about the customers, only the $$$. I can't wait to sit back and see how the new org changes work in the next few months. I have a feeling more heads will be rolling soon.
This most definitely was not a productivity led layoff. They got rid of some of the best techs and managers. Seemed to be mostly ELNK people. Tony Thomas is running this company into the ground for the 2nd time and people are just sitting back letting it happen.
How many and what depts? I havent heard of anyone being let go
Offshore is a part only because they do the work for less. You can’t blame them for bad leadership decisions. The directors have pushed for ways to keep tickets out of techs buckets. It’s common sense , fewer tickets means fewer techs. Until they get someone to wrangle the stupidity it’s only going to get worse. They claim everyone has been trained but still can’t do it. Then they openly talk about how good the training is. How would they know….they don’t know how to work a ticket. They don’t worry about anyone’s best interest but their own. They send emails and give you gift cards then talk to execs about how they don’t have capable staff to do the work. The only ones that fights for the people doing the work are the two that have been around a while. The newer ones are on too much of a power trip to care.
"Service delivery was a complete disaster so they move an exec to repair , now repair is a disaster. Making the reporting look like you are over performing instead of being truthful about the problems. "
^^ This.
I cannot tell you how many times we had a reorg or have been part of a merger and the keep the failed leader and just move them to another team.
ALL of the tribal knowledge just evaporated today. My managers think One Note or a wiki page will save us. The off shore team is soo disconnected from the back office and day to day activities.
I know the elite noc / repair isn't the only ones. This is a cultural problem company wide.
Like everything there are multiple reasons. Offshore was bolstered and elite work is being worked by offshore- that is fact. Even if they got some off shore that’s just normal house keeping. My team had offshore brought over 4 weeks ago to integrate… 40percent of my team was hit. So to say that’s not a factor is ignoring some facts. The rest sounds spot on.
Covid didn’t ruin any offshore plan. Offshore work has been cut to. The du----s decisions by the new POD leaders along with people doing the budget and not knowing what repair does is why today happened. Service delivery was a complete disaster so they move an exec to repair , now repair is a disaster. Making the reporting look like you are over performing instead of being truthful about the problems. You can blame offshore for this, but the responsible parties are the ones lying to your face and manipulating numbers so they don’t have to do any work.
There are some huge org changes coming next month and there will be another round. 2-3 more rounds are being considered as teams consolidate. More work will be off shored. This is why the offshore have been further integrated into the pods to take the place of the US talent.
This was the plan 2 years ago but Covid shook things up.
WS thinks hiring more interns is the answer. Good luck folks.
no surprises here. The elites are always going to pick the "seniors" to be let go. They make to much $$$ and have to much vacation time. Replacements can be had for cheaper. But what management does not understand is the "Experience" that is lost. Can't fix stupid, but you can vaccinate it.
Huge hit. Good folks let go today.a lot of senior techs
