I’ve watched this happen multiple times. A manager decides they don’t like someone, not because of performance, but because of something personal. Since putting them on a PIP creates paperwork and leaves a trail, they go another route instead. Suddenly every little thing gets micromanaged, every email, every task, every break. Negative comments start showing up in reviews, every decision gets questioned, and the pressure slowly keeps building month after month until the person either quits or completely burns out and goes on leave. Then the manager acts surprised like none of it was intentional. I’ve seen this happen twice in my department alone. It’s basically a quiet firing method designed to leave no trace.

They now use AI to create fake ER case and if they get 3 people on side they will get you fired it’s disgusting what I’ve seen them do to a manager that kept raising concerns, they set that manager up and the manager was fired for something they didn’t do. ER were not impartial
Feel for the manager
Happened to me, after months of trying to figure out how to put things into the right perspective and save the relationship that was being nailed to the group every single day, i got fed up.. Overachiever leaving

What you’re describing is not a Cisco-only behavior. That happens anywhere, it’s life. Skillset and performance are not all it takes to succeed, especially at Cisco and especially in this market. You need to be able to “play the game” as well.
What’s the point of posting and complaining about this? Are you arguing that those individuals that were let go or quit didn’t deserve it? How are you as an IC qualified to make that determination?
Whiney little babies.
no direct coaching
why would anyone do that coaching? is Cisco stupid ?
Its nothing to do with AI.. oh yes its AI (Anonymous Indians) related.
Moderators please feel free to delete this comment.. you joos..
doesn't feel any better knowing others are experiencing this. no direct coaching or training resources to paragraphs of AI generated actions to implement.
I feel like my manager is doing this ngl
Nailed it. This is more true at Cisco than anywhere else I’ve been.
This rocket ship can't carry everyone
@aa word.
Your manager want your job, they want to replace it with their family/friends. Cisco is not growing anymore, only way to get their family/friend in, is to play politics and border line harassment tactics to make you leave or make you next LR victim.
Nothing about your race you know(wink).
Managers could be a crook. How they got hired in Cisco is a miracle in itself.
Or!!! Or!!! Hear me out...the manager thinks the employee is in fact bad at their job and requires micromanaging to avoid embarrassment?
