Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Worried

If someone has the information, could you share what the end looks like? Is there a notice period offered and then the severance? Or are they letting people go on the same day right away? Worried about tomorrow and what that might look like...

@cr Sorry to hear about your lay off. Take some time to breathe and then jump back stronger knowing lay offs are not personal but just numbers. I have been through it twice once with FIS and I came back and doubled my salary! Please let us know about the "package" so others might be able to prepare. Best wishes to you and all others who are let go.

I was added to a “catch up” meeting with my boss, just looked at it this AM and saw that her boss is now on the call. Have a feeling that today will be my last.

I had an invite in my calendar 2 weeks prior noted as a 1:1 with a manager I have never had a 1:1 with. It was first thing in the morning and I work remote so got all dolled up to be let go.

I was able to have access to my laptop for the rest of the day. But after my laptop was a brick. Couldn’t even get past the login screen. So get everything off after the call.

I was given 2 weeks pay which would be my last day but not expected to work anymore. Given severance and 3 months cobra for free which is d-mb. Your benefits will last through the month. Use or lose them. Turn off 401k and stock if you don’t want those to come out.

You are also given 3 months of career counseling through LHH which is d-mb too.

When it happened to me, I got an out of the blue 1 on 1 meeting with my boss. Once it started an HR person joined then my boss read a script to me. I was offered 2 weeks' pay for every 1 year I worked at FIS, plus 3 months of COBRA. They let me finish out the remaining two weeks, and then I received the severance in one lump sum.

My friend had a similar experience, but he was marched out the door right away with no ability to access anything after the meeting.

we are in the US.

Stopped my 401K just in case to maximize my last paycheck, reviewed the severance policy one more time, deleted anything personal on my laptop. If I get the meeting invite will clear all cookies to wipe out saved passwords.

If it happens I'll take some time to de-stress, heal the pride a bit, then get ready for job searches when companies finalize their 2026 budgets.

Just a reminder to those that are impacted, like Seinfeld show said "it's not you, it's me" (FIS=me). They are making these cuts with blinders on. Try not to take it personally and internalize too much. What's meant to be, will be. See it as an opportunity.

We are all Gods' children. He allows us all to suffer and eventually die. You shouldnt have bought him that stupid sweater for christmas. Wait, is Christmas just God's Fathers' Day?

Have faith and just know whatever happens, it will all work out in time. No reason to stress about circumstances outside of your control. Control what you can and let the rest happen. Keep your head up!
