PIP here is more about intimidation or saving money than actually helping anyone improve. Most of the people put on one are not even low performers. I’ve seen good people stressed to the point of burnout just because management wants to assert control. It's all bullcr-p.

Hr and the supervisors and managers are definitely not on the employees sides. Their sole purpose is to reduce headcount. Many if us nsis were asked to leave and resign. Even though some of us are only a few years away from 55. Exxon is getting desperate to get rid of employees. Exxon is playing dirty and using scare and intimidation tactics.
for the love god
no matter how friendly hr appears
THEY ARE NOT ON YOUR SIDE
My rant is the truth. Exxon would not dare fire an NRE employee. My lawyer agrees and will only act if needed. Post ID: @c9+1k55w8vsj if you are ever in my position you are welcome to continue to k iss the companies a-s and not use legal representation. I am sure exxon will take good care of you. I will fight them and use every thing against the evil exxon. When I am ready and wiling to leave on my own terms then I will retire. I will not be mad I will take my lump sum and medical and leave.
@c9+1k55w8vsj you sound like one of the exxon fools defending this evil organization. The supervisors and managers all will try to force you out and scare you with hollow threats. I have never seen an NRE employee fired in my 20 plus years. Do not be intimidated by the management or HR and don't go through NSI alone. The pip plan dpc plan must be fair. If it is not then seek legal advice. I stand to lose 1 million plus from my pension and medical coverage if I left before RE. I am playing their game and acting nice for now. My situation is not rare I know several NRE's that were told to resign instead of going thru dpc. 50 is the new 65 and exxon wants us out. When it happens to you don't be surprised.
@bv, lawyered up NRE guy? Do you get paid by the word or something? We’ve read your rant on every. damn. thread. Please for the love of DW, stop already!
Well sometimes it is deserved. I made sure I wasn't going to going to work my a-s off last year and get piped. I worked but did not over do it. I did not kiss the bosses a-s and told them the truth about weam and the dysfunction and toxicity. I was a pain their as--s. So I had fun with them and challenged their bull s heet. It felt good to tell those ba s cards what I thought of them management and the unfairranking treatment of employees. I brought up lazy protected employees who were family members or friends that we re never piped instead of hard working non protected employees. I am of course protected myself because of nre. I am playing their little game for another two years. When I am retirement eligible I will really let it fly. I am holding my tounge right now but I am ready to blow. The young smug supervisor actually thought they could get me to resign. My only choice offered was to leave. J said no way j am leaving medical and my lump sum pay out on the table. I asked are you firing me and was told no. I told them I would need tk let my lawyer know what was going on and I would not sign anything until it was reviewed by my attorney. Then I was offered the dpc plan instead. I think this hot shot supervisor thought they could get me to leave on my own. They had a form which stated I was leaving on my on accord and not being coerced or forced out. It was a total s h it show. I reminded the fool that I was nre and had some protections. I contacted hr and they were no help. Hr basically let the id--t supervisor do what ever they wanted. Hr stopped replying to my emails after they found out I had a lawyer. I have seen so many undeserving employees piped and some totally useless employees never piped. It is a totally unfair system that benefits friends and family at exxon. Exxo. Is doomed to fail because of this. I am counting down the days to freedom about 650 days left till I don't have to put up with this sh--t anymore.
it's legal cover for the companies
