Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Possibility of Layoffs in June 2026

I have heard from other co-workers that there will be more layoffs next month in June to close out the first half of the year. When I pressed them further they failed to elaborate. I am a care coordinator and my state is Kentucky. We do Medicaid and I do know that is under pressure but my thought is any layoffs would happen early next year in 2027. Maybe the company is getting a head start and going to lay us off early and have a termination date near the end of 2026.

The FL Medicaid lost it’s bid and will be taken over my Molina effective 10/01/2026. This is specifically for the CMS plan (Children’s Medical Services).

The Molina Career page highlights open positions for FL. So if you’re looking… act now!

Medicaid market share along with QHPs and Basic Health Programs in the few states they have them in have had some loss in market share .

Medicaid federal funding cuts have likely affected those medicaid expansion states with trigger laws like Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio ,Utah and are in jeapardy in conditional triger law states like Idaho,Iowa, and New Mexico. If thoise trigger laws go into effect the medicaid eligibility level drops from 138% of federal overty level to just 100% of federal poverty level. That will result in devastating medicaid market share losses in this states . And we all have an idea what that will entail.

Well I’m in the Medicaid market doing UM and my productivity has been low. They’ve been trying to find random work for me to do. I feel like I’m on the chopping block.

Yes, I know Medicaid health plans are having to turn in tons and tons of productivity data. It’s coming soon, if not June.

Layoffs have been consistently happening every couple of months with this company for the last several years. They aren't going to wait until next year. They brought in an outside consultant to tell them where to cut - thats why there is a hiring freeze and they removed all the jobs internally and are slowly adding what they "feel" is needed. LAYOFFS WILL CONTINUE
