@f9 I agree, it seems like mostly east states have taken the hit so far.
@et what did they say? The total amount was yesterday? I’m assuming without any insider knowledge a total amount of between 10 and 15%.
@f6 I think that makes sense. I just assume it’s not very evenly divided across all areas like it seems like the east of the country has been hit much harder than the western states. It’s kind of hard to figure out where numbers have actually dropped.
Cara’s newsletter said 290k visits completed in January. 290,000 x 12 months =3,480,000. They said their budget is 2,850,000. That leaves them with 2,560,000 visits budgeted left for 11 months.
2,560,000 / 11 months = 232,727 visits each month. About a 57,000 difference from Jan. If each APC saw 100 people a month, that would be 570 decrease in staff
So 350 + potentially another 200 would make sense I suppose.
@et did they tell you what states or areas are next?
@er Prepare more coming in March., they need to do in waves to avoid some type of fed reporting. My DCO informed me of the total number laid off across multiple states yesterday and said at least 200 more in March .

Makes sense if so, that’s about what the math adds up to for budget.
@ed Sounds like +/- 10% of HC staff across. If the numbers are true of course. The question is whether this is it or just the first batch.
@Op I am a NP in Alabama. Received an invite to a Teams meeting that included about 12 other NPs and we were told we were being let go due to decrease in members. Then there was a second meeting with the DCO to discuss severance.
@ca Well that may not sound like much but stay tune. There will be more because they the company is losing Medicare members right and left. So this company makes its money on Medicare membership. So the more they lose the more jobs will be cut.
@d2 350 laid off 2/19 across states in HC.
5 APC in Iowa. over 10% of our regularly staffed team. couple with 7+ years experience.
@c8 wondering if more are to come and that was just the first/most obvious round of markets to cut. It seems like only a handful of states took the cuts so I can’t imagine it’s done yet.

@c8 doesn’t Housecalls have something like 3000 NP’s? Plus all the PR schedulers and other people? Not trying to make light of the hundred something people laid off today but I wouldn’t call that a “blood bath”. That’s like 5 percent of the staff. I feel like half the posts on here are just trying to scare people.
I heard 128 practitioners were let go today from HC. This was due to lower membership this year in many markets. A handful of clinical ops and business ops folks were cut as well. Blood bath.
@bs Ironic how it often happens that people in charge are clueless of what they are in charge of.

14 years at Optum. Never once a performance warning always 4 on YIR until the new Cara regime started.
Haven’t heard or been told anything. In AZ. I’m sorry to hear about those affected, it’s just awful.

I know of 4 on one team in Ga. I’m sure there are more. And the DCO for our area.
2 in NH on my team were RIFd this am. Full time. One was a state wide traveler
@ah yes severance was offered
@af metrics were met. No bad scores on ride alongs. No previous PIP or CAPs. In summary, yes, I was a good employee and never in any kind of trouble. This seemed to be at random

@ac I had members scheduled into March last week and then this week they were all gone after today. I was FT. Employed with HC since 2022.
