Thread regarding Ford layoffs

ROT Hypocrisy

An immediate mandate to RTO 3 days a week was handed down in ET today, despite recent assurances that we would remain 1 day a week in-office until Sept 1st, and then go to 4 days a week.

Worst part? Entire teams (dozens of LOCAL people) under a certain LL4 were granted "fully remote" status. Of course, the rules only seem to apply to some in ET.

Same old song and dance here. It's all who you know!

@fx damn that was me. I lashed out because I didn’t get the reference. Thanks for putting me on. I knew who Jordan was, but I didn’t know the line from him. Yeah I hold onto information like that. Every single thing goes in my inventory for better or worse… I’m currently in the situation where the grown ups have the ball in their court to do the right thing. They benched me until I get my justice. I’m just screaming out “let me hoop”!!! Until then. I need my dignity back. Holding it hostage is not cool. Sitting on the truth. Let me shoot!

@d8 dude was probably pointing out that you’d have to take “bless your heart” and “did they take your stapler” as such personal slights that you’d remember them from months ago like they hurt your soul, that he’s comparing him to Michael Jordan

@de Jordan? Michael Jordan the GOAT? You’re that young? He’s famous for his line “and I took that personally” as motivation for trying even harder during his games, which people know from the last dance documentary. Young blood don’t know the culture.

@dy “they” don’t care that their accounting of badge swipes is “broken”. These shenanigans are all about getting people to leave on their own without severance. Play the game and get through until they reach their target headcount. Or leave and find a better job.

High chance that on top of these birthing pains you get hr email that you don't meet RTO expectations, because days collection is broken.

@bc who tf is Jordan and why do you care— also why do you think there is some struggle to holding on information? You need to get checked. Do you regularly suffer memory loss? Why did the comment you replied to get downvoted that hard— it’s obvious someone got triggered

@cz Totally agree. Its their mentality that has us in the mess we're in. They dont know how to get people to work and enjoy getting things done. Things have gotten exponentially worse since he took over. RTO will not help

Go back and watch him speaking. His eyes are dead. Theres nothing there. Almost like he was given the words. Or the thought bubble is "wtf is going on?" Hes clueless and it looks like he just recently realized it.

He wants us to argue? Does that mean I can finally call someone an id--t? We have way too many "book" engineers here and not near enough people that know what its like to bust knuckles on a control arm, try to sc--w in the piston on a rear brake caliper or do the distributor dance to get the correct tooth. Just over degreed spreadsheet pushers. Useless.

Remember, Farley said at the recent townhall employees are too nice with each other and he wants arguments. This is what he's deliberately doing...causing mayhem. He's truly the worst and is responsible for the culture rot at Ford.

So is the C suite available to sit at? My guess is that it's not. So, we are the pions who get to scramble for a chair.

Theres people claiming they have desks reserved in a hoteling building, cars parked where they can find it are being 'stickered', people are trying to run meetings or actually get work done sitting on a couch or in the cafeteria.... I find this clown show spot on for the ringmasters running it. Yet another decision among all the others that seems well thought out and not at all rushed or a knee je-k attempting to regain control of a complete failure of employee relations.

They think that people are just going to know where there is a single empty desk or parking spot somewhere in Dearborn that they can get? Arrogant stupidity at its height. All this situation will yield is less work getting done and another huge hit to morale.

As well, I see several people that come in @ 9am and leave @ 1pm. Some of them dont even spend an hour at the workstation. Hoards at the coffee stations all day.

This whole thing is ridiculous. There has to be some labor law against this. A couch or chair in the cafeteria is not a 'workstation'.

I currently see manager types walking around looking for desks for their people. Thats a great use of time.

Yeah you guys really ki-led my vibe rolling into WHQ today. Full parking lot, lobby tables all full, common areas and conference rooms full from people with nowhere to sit. I just left and took my meetings from the road since I have an hour drive and they’re all on Teams anyways. I’m a squatter in my own area so I can’t really be triggered that someone took “my” desk but I have been in the same one for 6 months so that kinda su-ked. This is fun. I love it. Please let’s do this 4 days a week.

@c8 are people rude for saving desks? Let's not blame coworkers for this. The issue is lack of appropriate work space, not your coworkers.

The absence of a coherent plan for RTO is obvious as the id--tic musical chairs continues at our facilities.
Also made worse by any number of rude people reserving desks for others.
One would assume that HCM has no issues with office space given the sorry plan served to the rest of us.
Fix it or go ahead and call me out for not being in the office.

@OP That's not true. All teams are assigned designated sites, and everyone is required to attend all three to four days.

@am But what was all this leftist talk about "this is the new norm..."?

Unfortunately the only norm is what we, the slaves, will tolerate to sell our lives to these corporate stooges. They think they are all high and mighty, when in reality, the gov is the 1% and our top manglement would be left outside the big steel door with us when doomsday hits.

I hope that day comes, they will turn around to see all of us standing there, as equals, with a chip on our shoulder. Get ready.

There are benefits going to work daily, you can save on toilet paper at home, so we don't have shortages anymore. Ford offers a good selection of 100, 80 and 60 grit sandpapers. You can stay in the washroom for a happy hour and try them all.

RTO so you can sit on Teams calls with the folks you work with who don't sit anywhere near you or located in other countries. Makes zero sense other than the need to appease the local govt so small biz in dearborn gets the benefit of your $20-25 spend on lunch.

@a5 you’re the type of person that probably commented saying “bless your heart” and “did they take your stapler” when I said I was exploited and abused in model e as a new grad many months ago on here. I wish we could see you say these things without being anonymous. Show the world who u really are. You never know the full picture or story of why people come on here, it’s best you keep that mouth shut of yours if you have any class
