Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Find this person in “RIF happening today - Thursday - 7/31/2025”

If you read this post and thread you’ll find someone who said as follows

“I was honestly hoping to be a part of these layoffs today, sadly all we were given is an increase in productivity making the job more overwhelming than it already is. Best of luck with your future. 12 weeks of severance sounds wonderful.”

Can we please find out who this is? Can this person please offer themselves up to their leadership since they want it so desperately?

:)

@1nc if you haven’t directly communicated to your leader you want to be laid off then you’re desperate to keep your job. Take that “if I could” sh-t somewhere else.

@1nc not to knock what you’re saying but you’ve been here for a decade, what do you need training on? And you can offer yourself up for layoff by telling this to your leader in your one on one. Stop acting like you don’t have a way to offer yourself up if you want out.

@1nc AGREED! My department is set to be outsourced by end of the year with a carrot being held over our heads of “maybe” there might be “possibly” be a new team being developed we can apply too with no guarantee anyone of us can apply or get a job on that team. In the meantime keep pushing the work out for the possible job.

@OP I wish it was me, because this is how I feel as well. If we could volunteer to be laid off, I’d contact HR today and tell them to put my name at the top of the list - as long as a severance is included. I’m not walking away from this dumpster fire empty handed, and especially not now that I’ve given them a decade of my life. I’m not mad at anyone in these threads that wants to be gone from Centene. The work is overwhelming, the “training” is inadequate, and the pay is lousy (and that’s me being nice$. Who tf in their right mind WANTS to stay at this joke of a company? I couldn’t care less WHAT the job market looks like. Being forced to stay on a sinking ship is a much worse fate than being set free.

Correction. “They expressed happiness to receive what those let go don’t get.”

Meant to say they expressed negativity to receive what those let go don’t get.

You know what? I’m gonna chime in on this one. I can see why this commenter was called out. You have people getting laid off (hello this is literally the layoff board!) who would have HAPPILY taken on extra work if it meant getting to keep their job. This comment OP shared… that comment was a slap in the face to those who got let go and have to face finding a way to make the severance last because in 12 weeks it’s all gone. They expressed happiness to receive what those let go don’t get. You can’t come on here and whine about more work to those who are now stuck having to find a job that can cover their bills in only 12 weeks.

To those of you who still have a job even though you may have a heavier workload. Be grateful. Or give it up and go find something easy and don’t come in here and act like the way you’re affected is the same as those let go when you’re still employed getting a paycheck to make ends meet.

@zj 4 days? Give me more credit than that. I’m no beginner.

It took me 4 minutes.

I call b.s. on OP. But if you did find the person...
You spent 4 days to comment, hunt down an anonymous poster, respond to others in the thread, and assign additional work in a response in retaliation? And you're BRAGGING about it!

How pathetic 🤣🤣🤣. We needed a laugh here to lighten things up!

“OP just how tone deaf are you? You do know the culture of this thread, right? Sure, let's find them so we can then find YOU, and they can file a lawsuit on your a-s for retaliation!”

Omg. I made a post about someone anonymously about an anonymous commenter! Oh NO! Hey everyone! Found the commenter! They sure were brave in their comment but sure do seem to feel differently now that OP has called out their bullsh-t of trying to come on here and resonate with people who were laid off.

Get bent. Retaliate while you’re at it. I’m here for YOU, baby

They already know who they are RIFing. It’s going to happen. Already done and it won’t change. The only thing is it will likely be a slow burn vs big bang. Some are already gone, some soon, if you’re on that list it could be any day between now and December.

Dont worry OP. You'll find some way to fulfill their desire seeing that the end game is to apparently let EVERYONE in the company at some point.

I understand your thoughts. I told my higher ups that I volunteer as tribute. Idc if I get severance. But no one has said a word to me.

I don’t think negative energy is needed here. Someone can vent and say something without negativity and being called out. We all see maybe some time off would be nice but at the end of the day we all are pretty grateful for our jobs. It’s the unknown and uncertainty of these layoffs that have us checking this board to see if anything is posted. Management is not informing us. My team will be outsourced at the end of the year to offshore in India so it’s scary. We should be supportive and uplifting!

Someone really ruffled some feathers I see, guess that’s why it’s anonymous. So people can say how they feel without all the negative backlash. Also reposting someone’s post is kind of strange. It’s apparent you watch this page in your free time, maybe find a hobby ;)

The severance ain't that great. I was blessed to find another job quickly, but dont count on that severance lasting too long in this economy.

@ae. I tried offering myself up last year, in place of a younger employee, but management said that the decisions had already been made. A post on another thread said "...notifying their manager (they wanted to leave) DIDN'T get them selected for RIF. It saves the dept more money if they know said person will willingly walk without severance."

I’m sho shad. I have to work when i could have gotten 12 weeks of pay to reflect on my resume of doing nothing.

Sadly I have to work. This blows. But I let someone else get laid off instead of speaking up.

What a bummerz.

Honestly I’m sadly upset I have to actually do work. Sadly I could have avoided actual work had I spoke up and honestly told my boss to let me go. Sadly. I didn’t. And honestly, now I have to actually work. Sadly I just wanted 12 weeks of pay. Honestly I don’t get it.
