Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Plan after receiving the letter on January

The moment i receive the letter, i will file all the paid leave. (PTO and Caregiver)

Comeback and say NO.

Our leadership has IQ of the current weather right now in New England.

@c6 - if you say no, they will revised your infor. Just file all after you receive the letter. We have 60 days to send the response.

Just FYI (2025 alumni here), they make you pay back any unearned PTO after you've been given your 2 weeks notice for a layoff, but not if you've used it BEFORE the notification.

So if you think you're gonna get laid off early in the year, say January when you've only accrued 1/12th of your days (ex: 2 days), it's better to have spent all your PTO for the year vs not taking it and only getting paid out for what you earned at that point in time.

After layoff notification, the systems reject any unearned PTO. If you really need to take any time off those 2 weeks just use your unlimited sick time.

@c6 the extra money are so minimal vs the spend time in the office.

Why would you take all your benefit time and not just wait and say no and make them pay you for it? Extra money for the road?

This isn’t an airport. No need to announce your departure
