Fights breaking out at Ford over work stations

I've heard of several fights breaking out over workstations since there are not enough at most buildings. Tempers are flying and surely Farley is loving the chaos to get people to quit so not to pay severance and unemployment.

@g0 I didn't know the parking structures were heated? The point is if we have to park 1/2 mile away and take a shuttle to the building, we could be waiting 25 minutes.

@g0 Good tips, thank you. Do they offer any premium seating options?

@fy

1) Wait inside until the shuttle arrives (looking through the transparent glass to confirm the arrival)
2) Step outside to board the shuttle (only briefly being exposed to the cold). Note, shuttles have working AC and heat
3) Preferably take the back seat (difficult for the driver to tell if your seatbelt is on, I prefer no seatbelt)
4) Enjoy the 1-2 hour multi-loop ride!

@e6 - Did you see the shuttle schedule? It states that the shuttles will come around every 25 minutes. By that time, hypothermia will set in when it's freezing outside.

@e6 Will try this, I wonder if the driver would do it tour bus style if I ask nicely.

I heard that one group has designated a person that comes early and puts a beach towel on several chairs, just like at a hotel pool, to reserve the desk. It is working brilliantly.

Look, if you guys just want a calm and chill place to work, just board one of the shuttles and tell the driver you want to ride for 2 or 3 complete loops. It's quite nice actually and you can relax in some peace and quiet. It will burn around an hour and a half and you could alternate shuttles as well which is called piggybacking.

Is it true the Ford Land math on headcount vs seats is this -

100 People in group, on any given day 20% are on Vacation/Sick whatever, 80% of that number.
So 80 people show up on any given day,
The 80 people are only expected to show up 80% of the time 4/5 days so 80 -16=64

So a team of 100 gets 64 desks?

@d8
History lesson.
Several years ago, there was a rash of postal employees who went nuts and took out several of their coworkers.

Thus the phrase “go postal”.

@d2, why would someone want to deliver mail to someone’s place of employment? That makes no sense.

It’s the only a matter of time before someone goes “postal”.

I hope I’m not around when it happens.

@b1+1 so why do you feel like you are special and deserve a private desk? Why do you specifically get to not follow the rules?

Cant wait to be in your seat drinking from your mug eating your snacks and telling you to fu-k off when you show up. Thanks for donating office supplies

No one is allowed personal items at their desk. There is no assigned seating. You cant possibly have people move your things around because your things should never be left at the desk.

Had a karen try telling me the sticky note meant it saved the seat for her colleague and to go somewhere else. I put my headphones on and sat down.

I plan on coming in early and finding the desk that someone has put the nicest keyboard mouse and armrest at. How nice of them to donate to a public space.

Someone left a neck pillow in place of a seat. After about 3 hours, no one came back. The way I see it, it was fair game to move it. I mean, how long can someone save a seat?

Yeah, I’ve already had people move my stuf, chairs disappearing, people just shifting my things around, even using mugs, taking food. I figured it would get heated, and it’s still early days.
