Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Are silent layoffs happening?

I’ve been hearing more and more about small numbers of people being let go here and there. Weren’t we supposed to have an official large round of layoffs in Aug or Sept?

Yes, finished DXC last week of August, targeted based on not getting along with leadership, bench no relevant project work. Took the payout now I have 3 offers paying more than DXC and a decision conundrum to resolve. Based in APAC region.

@121 How can you tell that asking about WFR put you on the no pay rise list and not just being a DXC employee like the rest of us without a pay rise?

@121 I thought we were all on the No Pay Rise list 🙃

@11d The moment you express any interest. You're put on a no pay rise list. I got myself added about 5 years ago. I never got an offer, but just mentioning you want out seems to trigger a status of oh well you'll be gone soon enough. The longer you stay, the more determined they are to not offer a pay rise. And of course the less we do everyday to justify the decline Vs inflation.

I have seen several USA based internal IT people get axed in the last couple of weeks.

Senior technical people.

@yy There is such an address but unless you meet the current criteria you are wasting your time. Just tell your manager you want out and they'll let you know when you stand a chance.

@yd there is a mailbox you can email expressing an interest in any running WFR programme. They should respond within a day or two saying they've received your mail and what happens next. You should get a yes or no within 2 weeks.
I finally got my WFR in May after 6 or 7 attempts over 18 months. Afraid I can't remember the actual address but your line manager will

@y7 Any guidance on how to make it onto the list?

Key word to be kicked out is ORBIT list (at least in GIS). Once you get to this list that's it, you will be kicked out.

@c6 @fx It does show what a serious detrimental effect DXC has on people's mental health. I don't disagree with the sentiment to get out. But those at the end of their career path are not stupid for staying on, quiet quitting, and holding out for a pay off for as long as they feel able to do so.

@c6 The tone and wording is consistent with a guy who has previously indicated it was 10 years ago.

@af You are not a slave , if you don’t like it at DXC then leave already !

My god most on here are so privileged as in the USA and my state the company doesn’t have to give me a penny. But they still give out a MAX 6 weeks pay

Whereever most you are , man up and leave if you’re not happy. I see why DXC wants to force you out as your too dam expensive to hire

I think "Management" would rather do it on the quiet because if they announced a largescale VR programme they would be inundated with requests to get out with a wedge of cash !
Doing it that way, it could work in DXC's favour as they could selectively release the expensive "dinosaurs" and replace with compliant grads/1st jobbers.

NOTE: I'm one of the dinosaurs, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to apply !
