If anyone knows what’s going on, please share. As much as I despise my job here, I still need it, so I’m really hoping the layoffs today were just rumors.

RIFs are usually not performance based. They are based on who is paid the most in their band.

Definitely been going on this week / month. My group is small,only know of 1 layoff. Do not know when the person found out but our team was sent an email today notifying us. I saw they had not logged on all week on teams so they have been told sooner.
Its true unfortunately I was impacted. Management said not personal and not performanced based. Several people and whole teams have been impacted so far this week.
@ae What do these reports entail? Is it performance based, RTO compliance, something else? Layoff notifications are definitely going to be starting this week and maybe into next week. At least we can comfort ourselves with the fact that decisions are likely made months in advance.
Something is going on. Managers are providing various staffing / team reports to leadership from last week to this week. I haven't seen or heard anyone laid off yet.
