Received my get out of jail card this week and I'm over the top delighted. Over the last 10 years, this place has become so toxic, it's sickening. Pay for performance is a joke. Senior managers, who don't know the staff or what they do, are forcing lower ratings to get their 25% (used to be 10). If you don't have enough, they force more. Bonus amounts, given by direct managers, are changed by higher ups. It's unethical but don't bother reporting it. HR works for them, not us.
Save as much money as you can. Print all your employment records. Use their training portal to take resume building classes (after your AI training to replace yourselfof course). Go into the office, stay all day, and keep your head down. I wish you all the best of luck.

Also just got my card too. My first thought: thank God i dont have to work tomorrow. I know for a fact my platform management had no idea what my role entailed even after 1.5 years under them.
@c4, my new line of work is in the medical field at a local hospital. Forgot to mention we also get union benefits, annual bonus and pension after 5 years of employment as well.
If you are still there, get out when the opportunity is there and time permits. Best of luck
Don't forget to hit the commissary..I mean coffee...stand for old times sake. Congrats on freedom. May we all be that lucky.
@c2 What is your new line of work may I ask?
Got my out of jail card maybe 5 years now. Believe me when I tell that there is life after BNYM. After more than 30 years are hard work, I was throw out like yesterday's garbage. I'm now out of finance and in a totally different field of work. My annual raises are 5 to 6 percent and the medical is the best I have ever had. Be happy you are gone from that poor excuse of a company. Believe me when I say, no one is your friend there, more like acquaintances. Best of luck and count yourself lucky. Happy holidays to all!
Congratulations OP!
Before you are gone forever, don’t forget to carve into your picnic bench work table:
"Brooks was here"
It’ll remind the rest of us you escaped institutionalization.
Classic dog-eat-dog mentality.
My experience at BNY: I saw low competency VP's protecting other competency VP's. I saw directors looking out for low competency VP's. I came away seeing a leadership class and a staffer class. Management class will look out for each other, until they are forced to betray fellow management for career retention. HR is plate garnishment to this BNY meal.
