Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Events Manager position?

I'm currently working for a company who started doing layoffs, and even though my position is secure (as I bring 70% MQLS) to my company, my manager is an a-s who keeps threatening everybody that they will get layoff if they don't work harder. I'm already managing 100 events a year plus all other responsabilities at me job.

I was thinking about applying to the Events Manager position at Finserv but after reading this portal, it's like I'm going from a centralized sh-t show to a massive company wide sh-t show, wtf? Does anybody here works in marketing that can enlight me if this is worth it? (I'm desperate)

Thanks

@OP Is there any chance you work at one of the NCR spinoff companies? Fiserv is almost as bad as they are. We have more and better customers -- in retail and in banking. But if Lyons and co. don't get the ship turned soon, we're going to end up where they are.

@c0 If someone can't spell, they are not the type to know what above and beyond means.

You will work yourself into the ground as you will be covering the job of numerous people that were never replaced, but you will receive a paycheck. No extra points for going above and beyond every day, but you get to keep your job.

If you can't spell responsibility, please don't apply. There are a--holes at every job.

@OP consider your needs. If you are truly as desperate as you say, apply for the job. However, it only takes a few scrolls on this page to fully understand what this organization values and it will never be you or your well being. They will work you into the dirt, they'll have layoffs and "distribute the work" and spin it as an "opportunity to do more within the company" with no pay increase. Once review time shows up you'll be disappointed that you only got a "meets expectations" and when you advocate for yourself they'll make up an excuse saying that higher ups need to approve it but the managers will never fight for their teams and team's advancement. In truth, I was in the same position when I came to Fiserv. Everything started out okay, but then came the Sapience computer/click tracking, the unrealistic expectations, the cracks really began to show. Thankfully found something better and found out a month after my departure that my director got axed, entire team is being restructured, and now the VP of my old dept is stepping away to manage another team.

In my time at Fiserv I've only known people to work there out of necessity. Honestly I can't think of a single person that genuinely enjoys working at that place or has anything good to say...unless you're a C-Suite exec that is.

Best of luck OP...

Do not come here. It’s better with new CEO but still too much baggage from the previous CEOs regime.

I started with CheckFree in 1998 and when we were bought by Fiserv there were bumps but when WE supposedly bought FirstData the downward spiral began.
