Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Let’s get one thing straight here

There are no LEXMARK employees any longer, you got bought by XEROX and are therefore all XEROX EMPLOYEES now.

There, has that now sunk in.

@f3 the system does not to delete posts that get voted down. The person who said that does not know what they are talking about.

@a4 False.

You make a box that puts marks on a page. As a standalone company, you lost $700M doing that all on your own in a year.

Fuji made a better box, but they had XRX by the ba--s on price, and you were a tactic, not a strategy.

Your box has no “brains”. It has no real service/support structure outside of XRX. It has no GSA compliance sans XRX. It has no value to enterprise customers who need modern fleet management. Its entire driver stack had to be sh-t-canned.

So temper your ego, box-man, as BOTH companies were being run into the ground by a combination of vision-less executives who thought they had more time to squeeze compensation for themselves before the bankers started calling, and a fair degree of accelerated market change the entire industry was unprepared for, but XRX and LEX were simply the least agile in adapting to it, let alone competently.

The JV is simply a maneuver to sidestep federal bankruptcy judge; it may delay, but it won’t stop, the inevitable.

@dm Yes I read those but where does it say "The site auto deletes posts that get X numer of negative flags." that is what I'm asking for because i didn't se the auto delete statement anywhere when I looked.

I don't have any issue with that one thread being deleted it was full of bad words that could have been phrased differently even tough i agree that many people have a similar attitude that has been built up by frustration that is going on at the newCo.

the site does have guidelines - you can find the full (TL;DR ) version of the content rules in the footer.

Below is a summary of the types of posts that mods typically delete (not my own, it is taken from another thread):

  • foul language and derogatory speech (towards named individuals or groups)
  • names, personal info (PII) of employees or mgrs (c-level's ok as they are public figures)
  • threats
  • trolling
  • spamming (or tons of posts with the similar text)
  • impersonating someone in a misleading or deceptive manner
  • off-topic posts like political or religious rants
  • direct advertising
  • illegal and proprietary content

@bz The stock thing was false or misleading financial news that was just a bad search result because of the warrants by Google.. I see some logic in it being deleted. Someone in a thread said they also delete posts if enough negative markings.

@b9 makes sense but not sure I agree. There was an entire thread/post that was deleted last week. It was about how if you google searched our stock it said it was .16 cents. Someone on here posted about it. I know I didn’t imagine it because I was glad someone had posted about it so I knew I wasn’t seeing things. lol. 2 or 3 other people commented they had seen the same thing on google. There was nothing inflammatory about the posts, just facts and asking if anyone else saw the same thing. The entire thread was deleted by the next day. Really weird.

@bc Just like some sign pay day loans before reading them because they are desperate for the cash.

@b5
See, you people don't even take the time to understand the site your posting to.
The site auto deletes posts that get X numer of negative flags.

@b9 That makes sense there was quite a bit of foul language used in the posts by that person..

As far as I can see, only back-and-forth trash talk posts have been removed. Mods don’t allow trolling, personal attacks, or excessive profanity. The rules are listed somewhere in the footer and apply to all boards on the site.

@b7 Maybe Xerox has paid the site some fee to control the content. I just hope the site cashed the check before granting editorial access.

@ac There was a post on here that got deleted that was from a LEX employee who said their check still says LEX on it, not Xerox. Why was that post deleted? I have noticed a lot of posts being deleted lately. I thought the only rule was you cannot mention an employee by name. Who is censoring this page?

This is a story of when one historically huge loser met another historically large loser and they decided to get married and become one MASSIVE huge loser. Who the F cares.

@ap
Well there is a nice solid sh-t and then there is the runny sh-t thats just all over the place.
Lexmark might have been it's own sh-t show but at least their sh-t was solid, consistent and regular like Brand Flakes and Fiber gummies.

Xerox is the runny sh-t show, that is just all over the place for no rhyme of reason. The kind of sh-t that even after you clean it up you'll find bits and pieces hear or there and smell it for years to come.

The "we bought you" thing is id--tic. Both companies su-k and layoffs start with the higher compensated, which is XRX. There is no subordination to LEX employees because of some paperwork. SLT does not care about any of you.

All the Lexmark leadership infiltrating, did I miss something? Lexmark was a sh-t show too!

People from the lexmark side still have this idea that Lexmark was not sinking before they got aquired. Is this coolaid or where is this coming from?

We saw the numbers from the last quarter before the acquisition and lexmark lost $50M!

Both ships were sinking, the reason for the merge was to sink slower together

@a4 Agree uniting around a corporate culture may not be be enough to undo all the debt we have and help us fast enough to pay off our loans. Investors and the stock price reflect a similar attitude; It's not just an internal feeling.

We are not questioning that reality what we are saying is that the death of Lexmark will most likely be caused by our new parents. It wasn't bad enough to sink just one ship -- a second ship had to be acquired to take down.

This is about corporate culture or doing what we need to do to try and rescue a sinking ship. Some people believe the ship is taking on so much water that it doesn't matter what corporate culture is or what our last name is the ship is going to sink.

We care as much as everyone else does in the family to rescue the company. We also recognize that we are the reinvention engine to do it.
