Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Lack of in person questions

MW was definitely sweating it out up there. Almost no in person questions cause no one cares any longer.

Sorry but there’s no way the live questions were staged as they were horrible. No one gives a sh-t about employee networks. And it was clear that MKW didn’t know the answers to the questions as he fumbled it.

For those that don't know, it is carefully rigged and staged. Nobody is asking a question without prior approval.

@110 https://www.chevron.com/who-we-are/leadership/laura-lane

Comment had to do with all the travel she has been doing across our sites. Intent might have been good ie get to know the business but felt tone deaf to talk about wanting to go to SLC next (sounded like she had more interest in sight seeing than dealing with business concerns but that is my impression)

Who is LL? And what was the travel commentary?

@bz spot on - the travel commentary really boggled my mind. Incredibly tone deaf but what else do we expect from MW these days

LL, we appreciate all of your travels all over the world. Glad that beautiful SLC Utah is next on your list while the rest of our travels are suspended due to cost

I can’t mentor someone in India any better from the office than I can from my house

well, that particular example of mentorship as a compelling reason to RTO was certainly 1/2 baked. Firstly there are insufficient old cheeses beyond the age of 50 to get mentored by. and secondly, if you need to get mentored tuesday - thursday, you shouldve been let go.

In person attendance was limited to employee network leadership and the asked 2 cr-p questions about the networks. Could no one have coached these people that this is and enterprise event and people have real concerns about the new operating model implementation, falling oil prices requiring us to take on more debt to keep up shareholder return, how to get the workforce motivated and invested after a horrific year, etc. etc. They shut down the questions after 2 then ended the townhall early. What a company

And ended 5 minutes early?? Wow. Definitely didn’t want questions, and didn’t want to answer questions.

Was there in person attendance? I doubt anybody went unless they were invited or a sycophantic a-s kisser (redundant). Everyone knows the drill now. Just going through the fu---n motions.
