Have you or someone you know been disciplined for non compliance of RTO rules? Asking for a friend...

Confirmed that if there is a TM that has consistent non-compliance, their managers are receiving an email from HR asking for reasoning and to ensure they are following the rules.
@eg If your manager approved you to WFH, you're probably ok. The layoffs will primarily be based on role and salary. They are going to axe roles that are no longer needed and people making the most money will be laid off first. They will use policy violation cr-p for the extra people they want to get rid of. No one is safe. I'm just doing what I can to stay off any naughty lists. In the end though, there's no way of truly predicting who will be eliminated. I'm definitely cutting down on my Xmas spending though! Job security doesn't exist.
@b7 leadership keeps telling us to work with our managers around schedules. they made it seem like they are understanding of certain situations. no one from our team came in during thanksgiving week and they told us to WFH during xmas week. how can they say they are tracking but at the same time telling us to WFH?
@ch Absolutely correct. People violating the RTO policy will be a legal way for them to get rid of employees without having to pay for severance or unemployment.
More layoffs are definitely coming. Be prepared, people!
RTO will be used as a reason to fire and not pay severance to get rid of hundreds.
@c9 You do realize that more layoffs are coming in the New Year, right? I have a feeling HUNDREDS will be terminated in January or at least during the first quarter of 2026. Do not get comfortable just because things are quiet now!
@by why dont you think so, theres literally no room whatsoever, they either have to get rid of the office, which i doubt in 2 months time or reduce RTO, otherwise literally where is everyone going to sit??
@bx Not gonna happen.
The most we can hope for is that they decide to get rid of the Deerfield campus too. It's a huge waste of money! We can all do our jobs just fine remotely. Most people don't even interact in the office. Why are they paying for all that overhead for absolutely no valid business reason?! Really stupid.
Any word if they will do 2 days RTO once we have to relocate back to Deerfield?
They honestly are tracking to make sure people are punching in 4 days a week. My friend is a manager and she showed me the dashboard and report they receive of who is compliant. It's no joke!
They may not say anything right away, but they know who is not punching in and it's grounds for dismissal because they can say the person violated company policies. You're dead in the water then because Unemployment won't let you collect if you're fired for a valid cause like that.
It's not worth risking your income. I HATE coming in every week, but I have a mortgage to pay and I can't seem to find another job. Yes, it's STUPID and it SU-KS but it is what it is!
How opposite both of these replies are! Exactly how things work here now...
Managers receive a report each week of who on their team is punching in 4 days a week and who is not. It's up to the manager if they enforce it, but I believe they get in trouble if they don't.
My former manager wanted to get rid of a girl on my team so they used "non-compliance with the RTO guidelines" as a reason to can her and she was unable to get Unemployment.
Just food for thought. Don't give them a reason to fire you or you will have no income.
nope, im gonna milk it until someone says something. OPO been looking empty too so im assuming everyone is doing it. plus its the holidays...
