Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Stop your Bit-hing and get to work

I have been bad mouthing DXC Technology for some time , since before I retired for the lack of annual merit pay increases.

But reading all the blog posts about some DXC employees do quite quitting, quite striking I see why DXC margins are so high, if the employee's would work to the best of their ability (as they still are being paid a salary), the work would get done faster, the margins would go way down and the company might be able to retain more clients and also grab new ones.

When I was employed, I complained but always worked my butt off, as I have pride, ownership and didn't want to let my team mates down, or most of my supervisors/people managers and directors

@by then u have a lousy manager, when I was with money all/ISI and Storage I could always ask for help and get it within minutes !

We had a good team at that time. Not many pay increases but people managers that understood and gave you freedom to take time off if needed without recording every second

@t1 Given that you left already - sod off and be professional and go do your job for your current employer and stop meddling in a company you no longer have any vested interest in. Did you ever work at DXC or are you just bitter that they turned you down.

People who feel undervalued aren't going to sit diligently working 12hrs a day for a bonus that history has proved - never existed.

I am going on long term sick, fancy 6 months to a year, sort of sabbatical, this is the only way to get something out of this company.

I have learnt from the Network guys, They dont want to talk pay rises, there's other ways to make them pay.

@fv If you want professionals. Pay a professional salary!

Pay peanuts get monkeys! And so don't expect anyone to behave like they are older than 5, when we're treated like id--ts!!

I bet op was fired for performance because he worked hard to keep margins low and he still can't figure out why.

@op So you’ve been retired nearly three years but still can’t get DXC out of your head — that says it all! This is what DXC does to you!

I really hope that when I leave, I’ll be able to put it behind me within a few weeks… but I can already see it won’t be that easy.

The place has definitely changed for the worse over the last few years. But when you’re already thinking about retiring, another winter’s salary for not a lot of effort feels like fair payback for all the cr-p we’ve had to put up with.

There is no team. It's every one and department out for themselves. Determined to do exactly what they are told to make a point. I can't even get help out of my own team. Lob it in that will do wins. Everything else is not their project, they don't get paid to help others.

The concept of margin worked differently in your day clearly grandpa.

Did you work on CSC's finance department by any chance?

@op the leadership is at fault, as an example the Chief Marketing lady recently got replaced because she wasn't good enough, she was given another made up job reporting directly to RF with no job profile or information.

Made up job for someone not upto it. Its obvious there's going to be rumours about her duties as the role isnt specified.

This us where money is being wasted, payment for non perfirming upper management. Dont expect the lower workers to bail out the company and upper management on millions.

@wt+1k9crdabt As a Network Engineer why should i work to my best?

I will get no reward for it, in whilst inflation keeps rising i will get a hit. Your looking in the wrong place, you need to look at the management.

The reason why DXC is failing is because the management at the top bring in their incompetent friends just to take money, but they arent capable of winning or growing the business. They constantly focus on cost cutting. They have no ideas or skills, they need to retrain.

Focus where you need to instead of blaming the lower workers.
