Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Medicare: who is in charge and what’s the plan?

No information on what the plan is for 2025-2026 yet.

Who is in charge of what, who makes decisions, what is this year looking like.

Can we at least get some popcorn while we have to wait to see how this unfolds…

Any bets on what the new leader model is and who stays in charge? Cigna reps vs HCSC reps?

The SLT hanging around just haven't landed new roles yet. They'll be gone the minute they do.

Seems like the SLT that are hanging around are the ones who are the most invested in their teams and getting them through this.

The Cigna top layer of leadership is pretty much gone. Look at the old Cigna SLT and see there are like 3 of them left at HCSC, so there is your answer. The next level down of Cigna leaders got demoted when they moved over, so the leadership question is pretty clear, HCSC leaders are leading now, and they are completely overwhelmed. They were not prepared and don't really know what to do next . It's like they are building this as we go, which is disappointing. I think the HCSC leaders have good intentions, they are just in over their heads right now. I think the legacy Cigna people need to step up and say "this is good let's keep it, or this was bad let's see what HCSC has" now is a great time for people with good ideas to rise up. Sometimes when it's a mess, that's the best opportunity for new leaders to emerge.

The bigger question is what programs will be cut by the current administration in the next six months that will affect our business?

Is there a 30/60/90 day plan? Can anyone confirm that?

“I am worried that HCSC thinks DMOM was a huge success when it was a sh@# show. And the people in charge are now in leadership roles at HCSC? Am I right? I hope HCSC is smarter than that or this upcoming year is going to be a disaster for our members.”

Feels like a stretch…

I thought that HCSC was going to leverage Cigna's systems for Medicare in the future? Which is not a good situation either...

Former Cigna here. My job has substantially changed. As have many. My role is unclear, despite my title. I’m ok with the change, what makes me worried is the perceived lack of vision. To the HCSC folks- can you help clarify what the government business goals are for 2025? Thank you.

Definitely a troll - probably never have been through and audit or better yet a sanction! If you think it’s no big and everyone should stop complaining you’re mistaking - there needs to be a plan that communicated out - Cigna brought in a lot of members, complex benefits and trash systems. Just moving everything over to HCSC’s model and systems will be a total disaster!

You can tell this guy ( @by+1jr3jwht5) just isn’t good at his job.

Comes in turns his computer on and leaves at the end of the day.

What a winner HCSC got with him.

Yo! Coming from Cigna layoff board to HCSC... I got to say HCSC has a Debbie Downer who likes to troll and just Sh!t on everyone post.

It's crazy to me how helpless some of you are. What exactly are you waiting for? Have your job duties significantly changed? You're still serving the exact same line of business. Just do your damn job. Figure out how to login to a computer. You don't need a red carpet from the CEO in order for you to successfully assist customers. There's so much entitlement here, I can all but guess the average age

I don’t think there is a plan similar to what the Cigna folks are used to. That isn’t the way HCSC runs its business. It won’t change unless the C-suite pushes a shift to performance culture.

Former Cigna employee here. I admit I’m worried despite trying to be positive. The margins on this line of business are so low and the business has to be run methodically. Maybe it’s just my new leader, but I can’t get an answer on what the 2025 goals are, let alone a strategy to accomplish things. It feels like I have gone back in time 20 years. Also, I’m not sure if it’s ego or what, but something is inhibiting HCSC from meaningfully engaging with us to help drive excellence in the combined state of affairs. If it’s not ego, I’ll pray it’s some sort of sophisticated plan that I am just too naive to see. No one will listen - but they need to assess talent quick, move the right people into the right positions, give people the scope and authority to make necessary changes, and support the new and improved way of doing things from the top down.

As a former Cigna Employee, I would strongly recommend HCSC step in to lead the way. It's been a revolving door of our top leadership.
