Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

I decided to work 2 jobs remotely and not give a cr-p about O

Yes, I have two remote jobs, and I love it. Here’s why:

I haven’t received a raise at my current job. They don't seem to care about me, so why should I care about them?
It feels like everyone is being let go, and I need a backup plan.
I’m not learning anything at my job, and management is ridiculous.
No career growth

I'm just there to collect a pay check

I feel completely detached as a loyal employee, and honestly, that’s a great feeling.

@bm depending on where you are, non-compete clauses are unenforcable.

Besides, who fu--ing cares -- they are going to lay you off no matter what. Your fear lets 'them' control you, like a slave.

Go get that bag, or don't -- and stay poor.

@g0 Ah yes, Europeans get "contracts". We don't get those at O in the US, which is why we can be fired at the drop of a hat. However you are unlikely to be "fired for cause" by O in the US, and are most likely to be laid off instead, legally meaning your position was eliminated and had nothing to do with your performance (wink, wink). You would have to do something rather egregious in the US to be fired for cause, say like se-----y harassing a coworker

@bx That sounds more like an employment agreement. Did this "contract" guarantee a minimum number of years of employment, pay, bonuses, stock awards?

@bt Yup. It said stuff like Oracle could escort me out of the premises without prior notice anytime. It was a blast to read all the stuff they put in it. Basically it made it clear not to keep any personal belongings at the office!

If this is real and they find out you are going to be sued, just so you know. That will not be fun.

Two jobs? So how your usual day looks like? If you are a full time employee in these two jobs, what about your private life? Does it even exist?
