Did any one notice the recent changes for HR? Is this the sign for the next reorg for the company as whole? (I know most parts of the company is currently or just finished their reorg)

It’s all about DEI
@1z4 so many examples of this. A company is not about having the best people at the right desk. It is managers networking and surviving the corporate culture. It is everywhere not only.in Shell.
Disappointed in some "reorg" decisions being made. I know someone that had great potential and highly motivated that was not selected for a position for not having the "right experience". Here's the thing, that individual could have EASILY acquired the necessary experience to hit the ground running in weeks if set up for success. That would not only make that individual thrilled to continue a dream career at Shell but would also have made the new manager look like excellent future leadership material for setting up the team for success and a long term productive future. Sometimes people only see what's right in front of them and don't look at long term potential and motivation. Sad. I have no doubt that individual will knock it out of the park wherever they ultimately land.
@qg
you aren't in kansas anymore
@w5 sure, just work hard and stay loyal. You will be rewarded, trust us -WS.
@w5 Hmm. And in English?
Is everyone in IT re--rded?
bootlickers always contradict theirselves, it is inevitable
owes you nothing unto owes a check for your labor. trying to play it off but nobody is buying it because logic doesn’t work that way
🥾 👅
@rx exactly! One paycheck at end of the month. Not a job for life or any explanation on decisions beyond your paygrade. Nobody forces anyone to work for Wael.
they owe me a paycheck for one. maybe you work for free because you like licking boots so much.
Always remember
Profit over people
@qg this is the new world.
I do not understand why staff thinks the company they work for owes them anything. Some even think their manager needs to keep them happy.
Wake up and smell the coffee.
Yes I wish things were like 20 years ago, but you better adjust or it will break you.
It’s really hitting me lately. These reports have nothing to do with a distressed company. It is just pure corporate greed. Don’t get me wrong. Yes, we are a for profit company. But the narrative. The constant narrative that we are in tough times with tough choices, while our CEO has his pay triple and our share price is at an all time high.
@ky 30% discounted new LOR (NL package). Glad I left with LOR16 $$$
god I hope they offer svs
Yes Shell Amsterdam stocks arw going up up up. Keep going Wael!!
Layoffs will continue until morale improves!
HR doesn’t even answer you at all. you toss your text and time into a chatbot void and then you give up
@c4 HR is specifically trained not to ever answer any question in a definite way. The best that they will do is to refer you to pages in the employee book that are somewhat relevant. They will never answer if there can be an exception. I wish that I were speaking hyperbolically, but I am being literal and factual. They are trained not to answer but to delay and ignore...even up to and after the termination date.
it is a lot like this
For experienced staff we perceive that Shell's technical expertise has never been so shallow, but new hires will only be able to say that Shell's technical expertise hasn't been as deep since 2026.
Today is another step down in performance and technical excellence; but each year and each layoff is another step down, without there being any step up.
@cj there is still a whole DEI and supplier diversity HR team with US staff. But no real US people to help Shell’s own employees.
wrong. previous leaders cut HR so far down that we now only have HR in name only. anyone who has tried to actually use HR in any way including the website knows this
the DEI emails are just the few remaining american bosses whose roles will not be backfilled after they get fired or retired trying to invent “relevant” things to do.
You’d get more useful information by starting your question with “Hey Siri” than contacting Shell HR.
@bs I remember during the Convent shutdown, there was a meeting with HR to go over benefits with those impacted. The HR person basically said if we had any questions to reach out to Manila. Whenever we asked any questions the HR person stated they could not answer.
Lot of hate on HR but it's company leadership that gives them orders. Wael wants them to be like this
good. HR is worse than useless. as far as i am concerned as a united states worker, HR is nothing but a useless chatbot that’s worse than even siri.
we used to have people able to explain us policy and benefits who also handled joiners leavers and movers. now we having nothing and huge knowledge gaps on basic benefits. leadership should be ashamed of this absolute decay.
as far as i can tell the top priority for HR at shell is biweekly email blasts about DEI
@bc dang even staff in the lower cost locations are being impacted????
@ap
Several positions have been impacted with the rollout of this new AI agent/platform that will supposedly streamline HR processes. Hard times in Manila.
What recent changes for HR?
How on earth can leadership expect staff to show up daily, invested in their commitment to do their best work, when they are constantly threatened by wavering leadership commitment to staff?
It’s really hard to maintain enthusiasm in an environment of lackadaisical direction and vision from those supposedly in charge.
No more “reorgs” per se. The perpetual layoffs and continuous minor reorgs will continue.
It’s all so tiresome.
I think the concept of reorg has been lost. On any given day this calendar year 100s if not 1000s could receive a “your role has been impacted l, here’s the next steps and change portal link…”
Can you really call it a reorg if nothing is static? It’s more like organigram churn, ever changing , delayering, flattening, high grading, synergizing, consolidating. If it supports near term cash flow it shall be tinkered with, no matter how small an impact. And in this process there will always be a bullet on the slide or a voice over in the room “we still feel this level maintains our deep technical capability.” Deep is actually shallow , and the remaining technical they speak of grows tired of the lack of respect from these P&L optimizing asset managers who shouldn’t be trusted to run the vending machines much less our billion dollar facilities.
