Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Just keeps on giving

All those supposedly great security and cost saving decisions by moving to the cloud without knowing what was being done or securing it made by Legg and Baich just keeps on giving... why didn't their heads roll while staff did?

Moving to Azure caused more work and cost. Every week some new requirement rolls out for cloud applications and resources, all in the name of security. Onboard to this new tool, jump through this hoop, now reduce your cost.

Why going to the cloud did not cause any upper management layoffs. It should bring some synergy and savings to that level also.

The “cloud” is and always will be simply putting your private data on someone else’s hardware. It will never be as secure as brick and mortar data centers you own and it was never intended to be.

@bv
Sad part is that baich's reports that he brought over from the same leak companies he was in charge of are even more ignorant.

You'll never convince me that moving everything to the cloud saved money. I stare at hour glasses on my laptop for at least two hours a day waiting for the cloud. No money saved. It just moved where the expense.

AT&T hires like nfl teams hire coaches. Same people keep going to new places no matter how bad they were at their old job.

Ever since we ki-led off Murray

That was another Baich thing. He didn't like him. Probably because more people liked Murray than him.

@ah

Your post made me both laugh and shake my head in disbelief. You probably did a better background check than AT&T did on this guy.

The absurdity of regurgitating low level talent into boardroom seats is just the "elites" puking in ur face! The system works as intended, they believe the working class is too stupid to figure it out. So I ask, Are you one of them working class people??

SLT does not care about the data breaches, more fodder for "enhanced" security tools! You know, like the anti-virus tools everyone has to pay for now. They have society conditioned to the data breaches now!
Are you familiar with the saying: DSL is the heroine? Look how far technology has come and the only people not reaping the benefits are the workers and consumers, huh, who could have envisioned that :)))))

Isn’t the Stank always posting on LinkedIn comments about how much we value customers?! We show customer appreciation by breaching/leaking their data every chance we get. I cannot believe, that the people who chose to put our customers data at risk, are still employed.

well, you can always read his book "Winning as a CISO" . Must be popular as it's totally out of print at Amazon. Gives you insight as the brains behind many a leak to come.

He'd be proud of my using AI for these simple searches of his job history and breaches/leaks under his watch. Am sure there are others that didn't immediately show up.

AT&T joined April 2023; July 2024 snowflake leak, March 2024 shiny hunter leak
CIA joined May 2022; apparently they were happy to see him leave as he didn't stay long at what should have been a cushy job
AIG joined April 2019; Dec 2020/Jan 2021 Accellion file transfer breach
Wells Fargo joined July 2012; July 2017 edgar leak
Deloitte & Touche; joined late 2006
Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP; worked 2005 to 2006 (sounds like he left Choicepoint leak)
Choicepoint joined roughly 2003 or 2004; breach 2005 for which he had to appear before FTC and was apparently the largest settlement/fine at the time
