I have an idea for EH

Stop reorging every 6 months. Stick to one organizational model, have a resilient plan that you can stick to for at least 24 months. All of these constant changes erodes motivation, creativity and our trust in the leadership. Help us build the brand and create sick products that will sell .

Stop reacting too much about the short term. Have a vision, share it and follow it.

Seems like he should have made these leadership changes right away. It’s not like he’s some outsider who is trying to feel his way around Nike.

You can’t reorg a company the size of Nike in one shot. It has to be done in stages, function by function, and that naturally takes time. As long as EH keeps making smart decisions, the results will show. And that’s something we’ll only be able to judge in hindsight.

Plus, let’s be honest, if we didn’t reorg every so often, HR might actually run out of things to do, and none of us want to see what happens when they get bored.

It’s the same as a new GM taking over a sports team. They can’t blow up the roster on day one. They inherit what’s already there and then rebuild piece by piece to shape the organization they envision.

It gets a little hard to swallow every 6 months that the latest flying formation is the one that’s gonna fix everything.

If you were so wrong 6 months ago, 12 months ago, 18 months ago…. Maybe you’re just bad at this.
