Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Upcoming RTO - low morale but hey, we got tacos!

Looks like they starting to roll out the food parties for our forced "welcome back" to the office. Yeah, never mind our two hour commutes, child care issues or other emergencies - here's a taco, now shut your ungrateful piehole.

Going forward, this will be the solution for all your issues:

Emp: I need to work a couple days at home to care for my sick dog.
Mgmt: Here's a taco, shut your piehole.

Emp: I need to rearrange my schedule, the kids have a teacher workday.
Mgmt: Here's a taco, shut your piehole.

You get the idea.

I don’t get the hostility for people working from home, especially if there is little to no in person collaboration due to geography. There was no issue with this even before the pandemic but people are becoming so hostile to this idea, it’s quite baffling. And for the nut jobs complaining about pet people, staying home is at the employees expense, not the employers. Work is getting done but people have some weird beef on where it’s being done.

I am being made to use PTO now, and it su-ks. I won’t have anything left to go and do stuff with my family.

I have a feeling they will start making people use PTO for these scenarios. Reduces vacation payouts too. All part of the plan

You’re getting Tacos? WTH? We’re just told to sit down, do work, and not talk to each other.

Its a totally different skillset you tu-d. No way a g-n slinging cop can figure out a way to maximize databases or improve effiencies by hundreds of thousands. Difference is to do that you don't NEED to be at a moldy desk. WTF are you even screeching about?

Looks like some of the responders failed reading comprehension 101 or maybe at thinking in general. Since when is WFH while taking care of you pet, spouse, child or whoever taking money from your employer??? WTF is that train of thought coming from, your unwiped bootay?

And comparing grocery workers, police or nurses who HAVE to be there in person to call center or IT employees shows a serious plunge in your IQ points. Lame. Try harder next time,

police and nurses and grocery workers be like "oh no the whiny office people again"

lol. we don't want to struggle to hear you over your slack life and childcare saving when we call. GTF back to work like the rest of us. or you know, forfeit you job to an email que and cheap outsourced call centers in the cheapest region of the U.S.

We have PTO if we want to use that to take care of a sick dog then that's our right. Not only that, the person didn't even say they were going to be taking off the entire day to take care of the sick dog. They could be just working from home but needing to be there to keep an eye on a sick dog but still working.

Just make sure you also don't stay home to watch your sick child with this attitude
