I am hearing BRCX gearing up for possible strike or lockout. What is the story? Is one side asking for too much?
It seems that this could be a routine contract? Why all the prep?

“The committee played games with no intention of bargaining”
Who elected the members? The represented employees?
Beaumont already had a continuous relationship with management.
A few years ago the national goons suggested that Baton Rouge go on strike. They had to be escorted out of the building by the police.
Apples to oranges.
@bt
Yeah they did. The committee played games with no intention of bargaining, got locked out as a result and kept their own people locked out for 10 months trying to keep senior bidding for their lubes blending and packaging facility to the refinery and trying to retain raises for the highest paid warehouse workers in North America. Had little to nothing to do with the refinery but the refinery paid for it dearly and almost every one of that committee quit, or retired immediately or got out afterwards. A strong wind will ki-l it now after they hired 100+ contract operators permanently. The script is wrote. But hey, they got MLK day just like everyone else in the whole continent.
It’s all Bs unless you know the tide for NOBP. My advice for the wage folks is pay attention to what happened in Beaumont and don’t die on a hill you’re not willing to lose a year of pay for…especially under a Trump labor board.
One thing is new this year.
They will not be training the contact engineers to be replacement field operators in the event of a lockout.
They will utilize the existing FLS who were promoted from wage (just for a strike contingency). Many of these individuals have already been given NSI recently.
Good luck with that loyalty XOM.
Calm the horses.
Happens every time the contract comes up.
