Pip at Cisco

Do pip usually happen at specific times of the year, or can they be started anytime? My manager has been collecting evidence lately, and I’m starting to feel that I might be placed on one soon.

How else will they offload 60k people. There will be only 20 thousand left btw, then that number cut in half. Not a joke.

PIP is a cultural awakening on who the real boss is.

Yes, a PIP can happen anytime. It's the first step to being shown the door.

Getting PIP’d means you’re piped!!

Could someone answer the original questions? Can one just request a package instead of stop working? I think the process plays out much slower than places like Amazon.

If you are PIPed, you are already f***ed.

@bs that’s why you need to keep updating your pip version:

$ python -m pip install --upgrade pip

You might not be pipped, but you'll probably still end up on the cut list for the next round of LRs. Start polishing up that resume.

Solution is easy:

Seems to be quite a few folks who recently said they’re on PIP and pushed towards a package. However you’re not sent the package unless you agree in advance which is puzzling and you have to take the word of HR…hahahaha

The small bit of good news is that most companies will not just outright insta-fire someone in the middle of a PIP, the process is allowed to play out.

I was placed on a PIP at a former company that no longer exists. I asked about the date for the final meeting where we would discuss my success/failure through the PIP process. Once told, I put it on my calendar and stopped all work efforts.

Its possible to work your way out of PIP, but you might as well dedicate that kind of effort to a new position where you aren't tainted.

PIP in Cisco means you’re done in that team and time to move on.
