Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Applied

Well I’ve applied for my 3 positions. Fingers crossed…but many people who looked down on my field facing position, outright told everyone who can hear how they wouldn’t ever want a field job, or discredited my years of experience because I preferred this role are suddenly very vocal about applying for my job. I’m sure enough of them with higher PSG’s can push me out as they outright lie about their abilities. Fun times. Good luck everyone.

I have also worked both in the field and office. The field was great, significantly less pressure, OT if you worked more than your shift, no need to take work home, etc etc. Life is pretty good in the field. The only downside was the PSG levels. It hard to advance to higher PSG levels in the field.

Field jobs were nice before I ended up in the office. You felt like the work was more meaningful and honestly except for the weather, everything was pretty easy

@bn they wrote the job postings in blocks so that up to 24’s can post into a position usually reserved for 20-22.

If you don't get selected for any, consider it a blessing

@bs I’ve done both and have a Masters. I preferred to be field facing.

@bp+1 I worked on the rigs and in the field for 5 years before returning to school for my degree. Many others have done a similar thing. I worked extremely hard to get a degree, it was significantly harder than working in the field. Until you have done both, please keep your uninformed comments to yourself.

Those that sit in the air conditioned office won't last a day in a field job. Good luck.

All the best. Candidates can only apply 1 PSG up and/or down and it’s even filtered that way on the app. So those at 2 psgs higher can’t even see your job or apply to it. Best of luck
