Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Management is harassing us to complete these surveys, but do these surveys actually change anything? I've also gotten mixed messages verbally on whether these are anonymous or parsed out. Is it worth it to be slightly honest on how to maybe help things improve or just keep it neutral. Just trying to maybe help improve things before leaving by EOY lol

Well the retaliation is about to begin..lol all the plotting, degrading words, creating online threads to frame people paid off I guess. Then you wonder why people don’t answer surveys

Now that they’ve been submitted:

  • your manager gets the detailed responses over a specific number of responses, maybe 5. The instructions say this somewhere.
  • most peoples’ writing style is characteristic
  • there is little mystery about who wrote what
  • it’s easy to tell by process of elimination in the debriefs anyway how you scored
  • the stock price enthusiasm will dull most employee’s memories of the last few year
  • nothing is ever really anonymous

@120 is quite clearly STILL in HR, and trying to get you to document your honest opinions so his/her team can use it to axe you.

Never mind that they’re incentivized to show “workforce ROI”. A bullet point on an HR resume bragging about driving “efficiencies” is gold. They live for it…at your expense…so be honest?:-)

Ex HR here. They are totally confidential. Give your honest feedback on the good and the bad. I would say pick a few things you honestly think need to be fixed in your org directly. I would say about 1/2 the leaders take this seriously, the other half check the box. If you have guts, in about October ask in an open forum how we are doing on our improvement actions from EES. It lights a fire if they are slacking :) over all it is good…..give your honest feedback.

This is what Intel employees are concerned with - a survey? What a bunch of nuts, sick days, phone browsing and half day work days. Do you have a pride in the work you do?

They are absolutely not anonymous and they will aggressively retaliate against you for any negative feedback. Your best option is to lie and mark everything down as peachy.

Ask your manager to give you more stocks before submitting your survey OP. Otherwise, tell them not to bother your busy works and request it from layoff.com.

Like a pressure relief device, able to express succinctly all that is lacking knowing full well it is going to the void. They like to post all the changes they have made (and for intel the last year has seen many improvements). But compared to our peers, we still lag far behind. I lay it all out there, has never bitten me, clears your own conscious to do the best you can with what you have. It also helps you look at Intel from a larger view and recommend how things could be better which may help you actualize them in the future.

I tend to wait to the last day to fill it out. Most departments got to ~60% response rate by the last day, so I am thinking it ended around 70-85% response depending on how many people like me wait for the lest minute till all the reflections surface. I was impressed to see 5 text box responses. I trust Lip Bu to use this as ammo to further transform our culture.

Reading through this thread am glad I am out of Intel!! It seems you guys left behind need therapy as one of the perks offered!!!

My two cents..,, if there is a problem with a manager or a group of managers, you guys need to speak up through the right channels not layoff.com. That is the only way accountability or documentation can occur.

Also the person talking about fireable offense seems like they need the first slot in the therapy session. Why so spiteful? Intel is just a job not life itself. Leaving Intel gave me that insight

It’s weird too how these surveys never uncover major issues we all know about. Like huge fireable offenses. Major ones. Never exposed publicly by these surveys. We all know of at least one. It is general knowledge but survey never uncovers them or makes them official and life goes on like it never happened

Isn’t it ironic that what is supposed to be a tool to help “employee experience” feels like it is actually a targeted trap that people are scared of using honestly. I do hope senior management (ELT) reads this site and investigates the truth for themselves and for the good of Intel, instead of listening to managers alone.

I gave my feedback this time around in 2024, 5 months later i got a pink slip (ISP). So i would proceed with caution on those surveys.

Never trust the managers. Your feedbacks are documented against you later when they want to get rid off you. Be smart and cautious at Intel. Only give your truth feedbacks at layoff.com so the managers cannot stab you later OP.

At this point your job is temporary anyway so might as well give honest feedback. It won't change anything but at least it won't allow them to pretend all is fine. Keep in mind it's not really anonymous so don't write stuff personally attacking the manager, just write about the deteriorated culture.

Now that stock is up, management badly wants to see the survey results difference between stock @$20 vs @ $110. This might the only good sample until next year when we all fab sc--w up.
